How did the US go from having a communist president, to being at war with communists for 46 years immediately following his death?

He wasn't a communist, just a shitty socdem. He got the guy closest to being a real commie (Huey Long) killed.

The New Deal is the reason we didn't have a communist revolution you mongoloid. He openly said that he was doing what was necessary to save capitalism.

>He openly said that he was doing what was necessary to save capitalism.
FDR said a lot of things, doesn't mean they are true. There's a reason this clown was quickly relieved of his military duties in WW2.

90%+ income tax, expansion of welfare state, planned economy and obsession over controlling unemployment sounds communist to me. Guy was probably a Stalin plant.

Well, for starters, he made Harry Truman, who famously said the allies should let the Germans and Soviets kill each other for as long as possible, his vice president right before he died.

That said, if you want a real American red, look at Henry Wallace.

The role of the state in the economy grew massively (and the power of organized labor did as well), but he still fundamentally supported a market-based economy. The 90% income tax (which only affected income above a certain level) was a wartime measure.

>fdr
>communist
End this meme

You said a lot of things, doesn´t mean they are true.

>90%+ income tax
That's not communism. We had the highest tax brackets of 25% here in Eastern Europe and we were ruled by outright commies.

>all of your wealth controlled by the state
>not basically communism
Really tickles my pickle.

>singlehandedly save the world from National Socialism and Soviet Socialism
>probably a Stalinist plant

>he thinks income and wealth are the same thing

>he thinks you can generate wealth without income

On top of that there were still plenty of loopholes.

Well here the commie state nationalized the industry but didn't really nationalize your personal income. Whatever Roosevelt did was the exact opposite.

>communism is just state control and nothing else
>therefore FDR was a commie slug
a m e r i c a n ''''''''éducation'''''''' at it's finest

>10% income = no income

>he thinks the soviets wouldn't have romped and stomped germany single-handedly over a long enough timescale
Maybe look up how many Russians died in WW2 kid, and lend-lease was a drop in the bucket before you argue that point. Less than 4% of the USSR's production came as a result of American intervention, and 90% of that 4% arriving only after 1943 when the war was basically over.

Spotted the the Bernie Saunders voter, get off my board you dirty commie.

>he thinks the government sucking up all your income and leaving you with a few scraps is any income

>Bernie Sanders voter
>whole world must be america (god bless) because it's not as dumb as me
FINEST

All who oppose Keynes will die.

The future belongs to the Nordic model

You will be assimilated.

>he didn't vote for Bernie Thundercock Sanders

All who oppose Keyne will die.

Sassy negresses are his kryptonite.

Americans are fucking imbeciles.

Let me guess, you hail from Europe?

Well most Americans do too

The New Deal was not FDR's invention, it was the invention of various other people. All those things he signed off on had to pass Congress first. In 1932 FDR actually ran on a conservative platform attacking Herbert Hoover's then-unprecedented intervention in the economy: Smoot-Hawley Act, Hoover Dam and other public works, 1929 Agricultural Marketing Act, etc. Ironically his administration would go further due to pressures from others. The 1933 Banking Act (Glass-Stegall) was written by several conservative politicians like Carter Glass and banksters. The New Deal was indeed a conservative (relative) alterative to radial leftist revolution. It kept people alive, which is why it was fairly popular, but by the end of WWII conservatives in Congress passed several measures cutting taxes and spending finally putting the economy back on track.
