>/pol/ so triggered they start shilling movies on Veeky Forums
Now this is a new one

Do you realize this is actually based on a true story?

/pol/ isn't gonna whine about real world reality I think

what is so scandalous about a monarch befriending one of her servants from one of her colonies?

Didn't that lady play in something other than this that was also a thing? I wanna say Game of Thrones?

>not growing mangos in a greenhouse like they were doing with literally 1000s of other plants

Nothing, so why make a movie out of it?

She died as M in the last installment of James Bond movies.

because the lives of historical people is interesting, because cinema can transport us to imagine another era. because cinema is not about telling spectacular stories like forgettable superhero movies, but telling things about the human soul.

Pride and Prejudice

Brit obsesion with their queen.
And their hability to monetarize that obsesion.

Didn't know about this.

Britfags, how accurate is it?

It's not out yet but it's supposed to be extremely historically accurate

>"HOL UP"
*smacks lips*
>"SO YOU BE SAYING NIGGA"
*rapes celts*
>"YOU SAYING WE WUZ LIKE"
*steals gladius*
>"WE WUZ ROMANZ N SHIET?"

wf? whats so bad about one random black guy? He gets killed anyways

>/pol/ isn't gonna whine about real world reality I think

it is bad because he didn't existed in history.

yeah but, not in a world-endingly bad way, right?

>Who is St. Maurice
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Maurice

>it is bad because he didn't existed in history.

That's not true.

Legionary recruitment occurred in all provinces of the empire, including Egypt, where Nubians that look relatively like your average nog were a common sight, especially among the preexisting warrior class, and as mercenaries.

There's no reason to assume that in northern campaigns you wouldn't see the odd Nubian in the ranks, alongside all the Egyptians, Levantines, Greeks, Cyrenecians, Mauretanians, Hispanians etc that would form the bulk of these legions.

Just become some retards WEWUZ doesn't mean you have to take the complete opposite position in order to prove them wrong. Doing so just makes you as wrong as them.

I know that there was black people as empire citizens and perhaps a good contingent of African soldiers, since it is nearly impossible for all legionaries being from only the city of Rome and Italian peninsula.
However, how common it was? Also, what were the chances of them to be serving as north as Britannia?

It is like you people are denying that BBC has an agenda, it has.

and no, it is not that bad, but it is still a dishonest thing to do.

>However, how common it was?
Obviously not very common, that's why most of the soldiers will be white or brown, but to say there should be no blacks is just stupid.

>Also, what were the chances of them to be serving as north as Britannia?
Very high, generally Rome deployed legionary recruits as far from their home provinces as possible, to minimise the risk of desertion.

>It is like you people are denying that BBC has an agenda, it has.
Maybe, I mean the cartoons with black Normans and shit is obviously fucking retarded, but this isn't the same thing.

north african is not black

The problem isn't that it's a true story, it's that Hollywood picked it

"How do you like your Scottish costumes?
"They're very scratchy."
"Everything in Scotland is scratchy."

Yeah, sure, Vic, starting with John Brown's dick.

Waterloo is a very accurate movie, but there is one really cringy scene with anti-war sentiment. Otherwise, the production and research was very well done.

>oh my, they're making movies about historical events that make me uncomfortable, the Jews must be behind it! someone stop them!

>muh /pol/ ooga booga

I seriously hope you are shitposting for attention cause you are in every thread

Probably the most historically accurate Civil War movie ever made.

When has that stopped them before?

Didn't stop them with battlefield 1.

Which scene was that, may I ask? I want to watch Waterloo at some point, soon.
