They conquered a good chunk
Ruling is where they fucked up
>Greeks
>Rulling
we can't really do it
Forgive me ignorance, but why did Alexander not select a successor before he died?
Gods... I hate Gauls.
He did.
>the strongest
He meme'd his answer, forever establishing that Northerners will become comedians.
Too busy getting totally shitfaced.
Seriously?
How could he think that would be a good idea?
he didn't, he just thought he was being le badass
Alexander was a hellene. Possibly a half-breed given his molossian or otherwise exotic mother.
Well he either said "Krateros" or "The strongest", which sound the same in the Ancient Greek so it was up in the air. Not to mention he was delirious from fever (or poison).
Molossians were a Greek tribe. Epirus is where Greeks lived before they moved to the rest of the Greek area.
>Molossians
>Greeks
>Epirus.
>Greeks
Those sheep fucking northerner barbaroi? Nice joke, hoi polloi.
Greeks called each other barbarians.
Epirus was definitely a part of the Greek world. Macedonian nobility was considered Hellene in status, but the population of Macedonia were definitely barbarians.
>"Why would Baal send such a vision?!"
Lmao. Molossians are Hellenes. I've heard it all. Maybe they were vaguely Hellenised in the 3rd century, if that.
They're in the hinterlands east of Kerkyra. Shit tier savages; that's coming from the 5th century Hellenes, not me. They probably still ate human flesh. Definitely illiterate.
eat shit nigger
>"I think the children will be quiet tonight"
Not really, they ruled it pretty well. They just didn't rule together.
He died suddenly
Most likely a Myth. It's far likelier that he died quickly or failed to become lucid enough to name a successor while he languished.
He most likely assumed his son would rule after a period of regency.
>corinthian helmet
i dont fuck with that shit nigga
Great job highlighting a barbaric backwater. Next you can tell us about the learned Thracians.
THE BRUTII ARE THE ONLY TRUE ROMANS
WE SAVED ROME

QVISQUE EST BARBARVS ALIO

Died at 33 and spent most of his later years shitfaced. He was still planning new campaigns before he fell ill.
>can never get RS2 to work on steam

What is the migration period
What is the bronze age collapse
What is the Doric invasion
The Epeirotes were considered hellenized illyrians by the Greeks of the 5th century onward. Learn yourself a little history.
>QUE
see me after class
>YES, STRATEGOS!
No more move, Sir!
MY FAMILY, THE HOUSE OF SCIPIO, ARE BELOVED OF THE GODS
Greeks also considered Alexander to be barbarian, but later on they had no trouble of what tumblrettes call cultural appropriation.
>Macedonia being irrelevant shithole
>Fucking barbarians you are not greek
>Macedonia conquers persia
>Oh you are greek through and through
Alexander was from Macedonia OP.
Greece is a debt infested shithole.
Just my humble opinion but of all great men and women, Alexander is the least great. When he came to power he was in charge of the most military advanced nation around. He didn't invent the Companions or the Macedon Phalanx, he didn't conquer Greece...
All he did was get that army to move eastwards, and because the Persians underestimated his army, they quickly fell to his sword.
He was decent on the field, and the way he handled logistics was neat, however, let's not get ahead of ourselves and call him "the Great."
It was his army that truly got him where he was.
Alexander the tyrant.
NO PEACE WITH ROMANS! MEN OF STONE, AND IRON AND LIES!
>be me 15yo
>wonder what he meant by this
>mfw years later realizing he sacrificed them to Baal
Because he died in his 30s
...
THE DAY IS OURRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSS
I'm confused. What do the Turks have to do with anything?
he did though
Nope. Greek tribes. Stop being a conceited bitch.
Even if Greece was razed to the ground it would be better than Macedonia, isn't Greece your number 1 investor too?
Imagine being so shit that fucking Greece is your economy's lord.

WARRRCRYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!
nowadays with all the patches and mods it's good
apart from era, theres no reason to play R2 over attila. Soon as the early antiquity mod for Attila comes out it will be completely obsolete.
Gotta love the logistics system in DEI though it should become a standard feature.
ancient empires is never going out
what makes you say that? I heard they made a lot of progress recently and were close to an alpha release.
cornellia best house
...
Normies and casuals hate Attila's setting because its "boring." Only patricians appreciate the atmosphere of apocalyptic crisis as Rome crumbles around them.
>Ptolemy teleports behind PErdiccas
Heh, nothing personal kid.
>PROUD ROMANS ALL
>OBLITERATE THEM
>SIC DOMINE
>MANDATA TUA
they didn't slouch with the dialog at least
eh it was kinda fun for a while but the wre campaign gets very boring no matter how well you do, its still an endless game of shifting armies around, squashing inevitable rebellions, and hoping you have armies at the borders when the huns and other barbars come knocking, and you do this defensive tedium for like 1-2 weeks of real life time depending on how much you play before you can finally kill attila, and by that point youve done like 200 defensive sieges. Once thats over, youre a powerhouse with no rival and proceed to squash the rest of the mob, boring. Its fun for a good 50 turns because its so hard and scary, but it gets old once you figure out how to win both tactically and strategically and realize how much of a slog it was, certainly not replay worthy.
also the wre campaign being the hardest is a meme
try playing as pagan lithuania, surrounded by teutons, poles and novgorod with denmark looming
and also constant crusades by autistic christians

Carthage is the whore who got what she deserved but white knights still protect her
He did. He chose Perdiccas. But the other Generals spreaded myths that he didn't, or he didn't chose anyone, to make everyone skeptic of the claim.
Please stop, Alexander was a moody stupid kid who Philip II hated, Alex knew this and had his father assassinated, then asked the Delphi to clear his name.
Alex would have been some bum commander living in Greece.
Philip II was the real genius.
The dominant world culture stems from Greece.
Philip II was some drunken fool
Arabic Winter is much more chill track imo
