My sister has a similar problem. A lot of the food we eat are big contributors to organ failure, gallstones, cancer, etc.
My grandparents lived next to a transformer, and they both got cancer.

They were manageable. You know how many remains are pulled out of the dust? A LOT. And lot of them don't even have as much as a fracture.

Majority of medicines are synthesized from actual plants and plant byproducts. Civilization was a lesson learned; and we can carry those lessons, like curing infections, with us, through tradition and practice (like metallurgy and brewing was, in the past). Primitive peoples often performed surgeries; and through trial and error, some things were used as disinfectants and anti-biotics. Studies show that people who drank fermented barley showed signs of faster bone healing and less infection than did people who didn't drink the fermented barley (ancient beer).

I used to be very political; I could tell you how I've progressed politically, from what kind of liberal I was, to how rightwing I became, but that doesn't matter anymore.

Scarcity was that defining factor which made man compromise and give interest (tax, loyalty, forced servitude, etc) to a political invention of agriculture; that to keep man working, he was given enough grain to live by, but robbed of the grain enough to incentivize him to work. Without scarcity, the system would not work. Civilization needs people to be in deficit for them to want to progress. Trade is essentially both parties cognitively benefiting from the other's deficit. We've given moral precedence to greed, and it's consuming the world.
