Okay Veeky Forums, let's settle it once and for all, which nation is the greatest that has ever existed?

For this, there are going to be two rounds of voting. First round is about picking the greatest nation of each civilizational sphere. Second round then the winners of the first round will compete with each other.

The Roman Empire, and before the contrariar start replying, consider a nation as influential, powerful, asthetic, and inspirering as the romans

I left Rome out on purpose because

a) it's not really a nation
b) it would have won anyways had I put it in

I also think the Roman would've won,
I'm guessing the Briton, Arab and Chinaman will win.
The Egyptian or Incan gets the one for lost civilisation

Although, deep down everyone knows the spaniards ought to win
