the jews would never allow it

We can, it's just illegal. Modernise the law and we can begin a new golden age.

nascar and ufc is loved by the plebs

Why don't we let prisoners fight eachother to death IF THEY WANT TO? Literally what is the moral obstacle to this

I'd fight in a gladiatorial fight

Nanny state.

Actually, there are moral and practical issues with turning a blind eye to the citizenry slaughtering each other for entertainment, but it has nothing to do with the reasons given by the state and talking heads. They preach false morality.

>the earliest report of dirty trickery in sports in antiquity is sabotaging racing chariots

Didn't small scale civil wars regularly break out after chariot races when a popular team would lose? I recall one of those riots burning down half of Constantinople and tens of thousands of fans getting slaughtered by the emperors forces

>the largest coloseum at the time for gladiator fights had a maximum capacity of 80.000 people
>the largest race track for chariot races had a capacity of 250.000 people

Really puts things into perspective, I wonder why we hear more about gladiatorial fights rather than chariot races when chariot races were often as bloody or even bloodier than gladiator fights.

Heard it was rare for Gladiators to actually die in the arena as they brought in money for the town they represented. Is this true?

It was moreso an expensive investment. The ideal gladiator was to be pretty thick, fed on a diet consisting of heavy carbs so they have enough flesh to show wounds, but not necessarily to be at risk of death from a swordcut. Training these guys and building the body time for them is time consuming. Plus, not every one was a slave, as some entered it (admittedly giving up their rights as citizens/freedmen) willingly to receive adulation. They were certainly executed on occasion, but most of the people killed were convicted persons either killed by wild beasts or poorly armed against the more trained gladiators.

Dude they literally flooded the colloseum and had mock naval battles with ships and shit where hundreds died.

Link?

NASCAR and pro wrestling are the exact same thing. In fact I can guarantee there was even an exact analog to Jim Ross.

Who was Roman Vincent McMahon?

Wish we could combine them

Killing and hurting is morally wrong.

VOSSSS DEMITTTTOOOOO

There's still horse racing, closest thing to chariot races.

because the power to enslave people and make them fight in an arena requires an oppressive tyrannical government that no one wants

also why would we have chariot races when we have car races that are 100x faster and more intense?

That would be pretty predictable. Having a ufc fight in the middle of a live nascar stadium sounds like the ultimate bubba dream though.

>also why would we have chariot races when we have car races that are 100x faster and more intense?

spinning swords and a lot more blood

It's called boxing and horse racing.

>chariot races
they do

Nascar and UCF or Pro wrestling depending on your taste
