Mathematically right now returns in crypto > interest rates on loans.

Probably around £1000. That said I'm still a student(PhD) so I'm not to bothered about it now. Ill probably get a good job once I graduate and rapidly gain more wealth as I'm a cheap bastard. My current strategy is to invest roughly £50 a month in really high risk investments, being crypto right now, then move in to index funds in a year or so.
What is the comfiest strategy for building net wealth guys?

>Saved up 50k over 5 years from working a shit job.
>start trading shitcoins
>now down to 10k

money in > money out

Up by 20k today from shorting, xie xie weak handed Chinaman!

I'm doing the opposite. Low risk then building up to high risk. Saved 80,000 in fiat, now pumping all my savings towards stocks. Might do crypto once I get couple hundred k in stocks, assuming crypto even exists then.

Genius who'da thunk it!
I'm talking about maximizing the money in part of the equation and minimizing the money out bit. Or does Veeky Forums only talk about crypto ?

Whats your reasoning behind this strategy? My though process was I dont really need the money when I'm young and healthy so i can afford to gamble. When I'm an old guy ill need to have more security in my finances to afford healthcare etc?

>23yo
>$160k

Still feels like not enough :(

Fuck you

Well, I'm a risk-adverse guy, so there's part of it there. I started off with the goal of having 6 months expenses in cash so I could afford to live without worry if I got laid off. Then I got worried about an upcoming stock crash so I saved even more fiat, with the reasoning that if stocks crashed, I'd get laid off too and the financial ruin would be too much. Now I feel comfy with my cash reserves. I feel that even if the stock market crashed and my company went under, I'd be fine so I'm going balls deep on stock.

I saw my parents lose a lot of wrath in the crash after 2001, my dad struggled to find a new job and we had to sell a lot of stock at low prices to make ends meet. That experience made influenced me.

because you're a virgin

$80k. Half of it in crypto. Wasn't really on purpose, I'm not that much of a gambler. It used to be a small fraction, but the last couple upswings raised it to half of my holdings. I keep alternating between feeling like I should sell some of it off to rebalance it, or being ashamed that I didn't grow my crypto holdings even more before while it was cheap and wanting to massively increase them. Currently leaning towards the latter and trickling more money into crypto. Dollar cost averaging ftw.

When you're asking trivial questions you should expect trivial answers.

>maximizing the in
Get a high paying job, or two, or start a good business, or blow off some rich guy. There are millions of ways, find one that works for you.

>minimizing the money out
Don't spend it in shit you don't need. Learn to cook, learn to fix shit, don't spend money in porn, don't gamble, use your feet or a bicycle whenever possible, don't buy clothes too pricy or too cheap, find cheap rent, etc etc.

Do not trade forex.

Adding to , build up a cash reserve of AT LEAST 6 months of living expenses before investing in anything.

And as a personal note that might piss off Veeky Forums, don't have more that 10% of your assets in crypto.

Wouldn't a spread be optimal? Like put 1%-2% of your wealth into crypto. If it skyrockets, you win. Otherwise it doesn't particularly impact your mainstay capital growth

>€2154

I honestly dont see value in crypto desu.

Roughly $10 000 000

I'm a trust fund kid and I inherited a lot of money and real estate from my grandparents and aunt

You are right should have been more specific about my question. Was more curious about each persons individual strategy, but I appreciate the response.

My strat for increasing money in currently is: teaching guitar ( no time for a real job during this PhD), buy cheap shit on gumtree/ craigslist and ebay it for profit (made a bunch o money thus far this year). Considering making a youtube channel reviewing musical equipment type stuff and hopefully make a pittance doing that.

Minimising costs: I brew all my beer/ wine, slow cook cheap meat into tasty meals, no netflix etc, no games, all hobbies are either free or extremely cheap now.

Areas where I think I can improve is move to a cheaper part of town and disregard women.

Around 450k USD

It seems like you know what you're doing.

>Areas where I think I can improve is move to a cheaper part of town and disregard women.
Keep in mind that there's more to life than maximizing wealth. Living alone in a shack doesn't work for most people.

But I'm replying mostly because I remembered something else that many people do and from the financial point of view is fucking retarded: smoking.
Don't smoke. I know people that spend 20% of they're after tax income in cigarettes.

their*

>Don't smoke
I know some chain smokers spending 50% of their income on cigarettes.
I switched to vaping last year, bought bulk liquid ingredients from chemical suppliers and use rebuildable coils.
Spent $800 all up and have probably 10 years worth, when smoking was spending $2.5k a year and prices have gone up a lot since.
