Mate, it's cos u dont see the big picture. The fight is going on. Never stopped. History has not ceased.
There is a purpose to all of it. A stoic, humane purpose. In small deeds. In big deeds. U are a brother, which should join the fight, but yet to realize the one is raging on.
It's easy to get lost in all this crap u are surrounded with and not see it. Americans are easily fooled, not their fault. That is why there is so many conspiracy theories of this and that (like flat earth crap).
What you feel is alienation. This corrupt system has alienated people among themselves and from their labour. This is not how people should be, how society shouod be.
