I've read Ferguson's Empire (I had to) together with left leaning Brendon's book. I can say that Ferguson's conservative bias is still resulted in a more objective book. Seriously. The biggest problems were in the last chapter when he was like: "eh we fought Japan and that absolves us from all of our past sins"

That's not necessarily how it would work, at all.
People who make these images never understand Ancap.

>Free market capitalism is what stopped child labor
You do know who makes your shoes right? In the west child labor reforms were brought about by ideas by socialists like Robert Owen. Free market economics literally brought back child labor by creating sweatshops in countries without child labor laws like China and Vietnam? Liberalism is great if not the best ideology when done in moderation but unchecked capitalism seen in Ancap is almost as bad as (if not worse than) Communism and Fascism.

holy shit is that last one real? Thats the dumbest shit ive ever seen

Any non-state ordered monopolies? It's not something that is very common. And consolidation of companies usually happens under government protection anyway.

>and everything changed when the burgers attacked

Oh, Robert Owen. His legacy of failure is well known to me. Child labor survived him somehow. And why? Because poverty. That's why reforms and laws aren't worth shit. India tried making child labor illegal and as a result they only made it more prevalent because the costs of employing a child (illegal worker) rose which means that they were paid less and since the original reason for sending them to work (poverty) didn't magically disappear the problem became more serious.

So what happened in Great Britain? The next generation acquired more wealth and gradually fewer and fewer families were forced to send their children to work. Things like urbanization, age of photography etc made it look as if late 19th century was the darkest period but really a citizen of a Victorian city had it better than a peasant in a Georgian village etc. The change had to be gradual.

>unchecked capitalism seen in Ancap is almost as bad as (if not worse than) Communism and Fascism.

Full retard.

>Ywn see the combined Italio-German-Jap-Spanish fleet do battle with the US navy, Royal Navy with friends, Portuguese Navy, and a random assortment of free forces ships do battle for control of Gibraltar in the largest naval battle in history akin to Midway but tenfold.

Socialist reforms were a deed half done, the Empires should've pushed for greater industrial development of the colonies in order to create the conditions where slave labour becomes less viable, the education and industrial capacity should've been there from the start, we're essentially forcing countries through their own industrial revolutions, and all the misery, child labour and death that entails.

Fuuck the /leftypol/ shit is here again. Their raids were a giant failure but somebody still doesn't get a hint.
