I'm also 30, had friends interested in bitcoin years ago but only started in July. But I luckily made a 5 digit gains in week 3. I also don't regret getting my PhD and job at all - it will matter more than monetaz in the long run. Mental bordom is a horror and being challenged to get something done is valuable.
