My dream is to do a crossover of An American Tail and Gangs of New York where the main conflict is the Nativism of 19th Century America in all its violent and racist glory, rather than just "le (literal) fat cat industrialists xddd".

Do you really think Veeky Forums can afford to become even more retarded?

Fucking good taste mate, I might watch that again.

We already have historical comics threads here

The Wind Rises by Miyazaki

What was that based on?

Well, you're here so we can't get any worse.

The life of a guy who was the main engineer behind the Zero airplane.

God i love that song

>Anastasia
>didn't even include the best part where she was shot and bayoneted repeatedly and the burial detail fingered her genitals

0/10 would not watch

Is it too much to ask Miyazaki to do a film on the American Civil War? I want to see his rendition of the Shenandoah Valley.

Anastasia is an anti-communist pro-imperialist trash from the Yeltsin years that mocked and denigrated the Great October Socialist Revolution, one of the most important events in the Marxist struggle for humanity on earth.

The film made no mention of Comrade Lenin's revolutionary activities and his fellow comrade Bolsheviks who created the world's first socialist state on earth. Lenin brought peace, land, and bread for the masses but does Anastasia thank comrade Lenin for bringing revolutionary change to the masses? No.

Don Bluth is a pro-imperialist film maker that slandered and insulted the Soviet people in the late 1990s who were still trying to get over the fact that their socialist motherland was destroyed by Yeltsin and the traitors.

>Y...you too
/co/ bringing their A-Game today, huh?

>tankies get assblasted over a fucking kids movie made by a Mormon

Pottery

>kids movie made by a Mormon
That's sick joke, this "kids movie" is nothing but imperialist propaganda by the American capitalist bastards. Its no doubt that people in Russia were brainwashed by this filth propaganda in the 1990s under the reign of traitor Tsar Yeltsin.

>Don Bluth is a pro-imperialist film maker

His most famous movie prior to Anastasia is literal Jewish propaganda that advocates for America to be overrun with filthy immigrants and mud races.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An_American_Tail

What's with Jews? While Don Bluth is pro-imperialist film maker, he depicted the cruelties of the pogroms in Russia when it was run by the Tsars still, a fascist abomination that exploited the masses of Russia.

Thankfully Comrade Lenin came and saved the masses from enslavement and brought them liberation and the glories of socialism. But does he acknowledge that? No he doesn't. He attacks the Great October Socialist Revolution and he does a poor job with it too. Comrade Lenin is not seen anywhere in that movie and it angers me that socialism is mocked so openly by this film.

>but does Anastasia thank comrade Lenin for bringing revolutionary change to the masses?

Uhhh... He kinda ordered her entire family murdered so no.

I'm talking the name of the film, Lenin is not praised for his revolutionary ideas in the film. I'm not referring to that parasite that got righteous justice in the hands of the Cheka, the people's police that exterminated the counter revolutionaries.

>What's with Jews?

An American Tail is a vehicle for promoting thinly veiled Jewish Marxist ideals and throwing open our great nation's gates to trespassers. Irish harps, who do a job for a nickel what a nigger does for a dime and a white man used to get a quarter for.

>Tsarist Russia
>fascist abomination

Fascism wasn't conceived until after the fall of the Russian Empire (in response to the Bolshevik Revolution) you twit.

Fascism is capitalism in decay. Thus was said by comrade Lenin who accurately pointed out the problem and stressed the need for revolutionary action against the bourgeoisie and the reactionaries that controlled Russia.

Comrades, fellow Maoists and Marxist-Leninist revolutionaries, let's all denounce this imperialist propaganda film meant to demoralize the Soviet people after they endured the collapse of socialism. Don Bluth is a bourgeoisie reactionary.

...

Hi, OP here.
I disagree with y'all entirely but, you're a little right. I felt like during the movie they tried to make feel bad for the Tsar's too much when the Tsar's were terrible rulers. All this communist drivel though. Y'all gotta stop that.

You don't understand bourgeois, the czar's were not only terrible rulers they were reactionary scumbags that were holding the people back from progress. The fact that the czar isn't depicted as a terrible ruler in the movie isn't what gets me mad about Don bluth's Anastasia film it's the fact that reactionaries and Bourgeois like you are attacking me for pointing out for the fact that this film is nothing but anti-communist lunatic propaganda movie aimed at the Soviet people after they have been demoralized from the fact that communism and socialism as well as socialist construction has ceased in Russia in the late 1990s. This film came out in 1997 six years since the Soviet Union collapsed and this is a slap to Lenin's Revolution this film is. It's pouring salt in a wound on the Soviet people. So no the Tsar wasn't just a terrible ruler he was a Bourgeois and a reactionary ruler that the people rose up in 1917 and said enough was enough and they got their Revolution.

>Miyazaki

also: Grave of the Fireflies.

and "Princess mononoke"
the later for simply being more nuanced about progress vs nature than many other works.

I'd say there are probably some french animations we're not listing..

Porcco Rosso is pretty good for it's portrayal of pre-ww2 italy I think,

there's also millennium actress, which is good for showing ww2-era japan

it would be great if it ran into the Maus problem.

I don't have the pages (they were storytimed once at /co/.. but here's a scene in the comic Maus where the author debates how to portray a german political dissident who was a camp inmate, because at once he's not a Mouse(Jew) and yet he's not a cat(Nazi).. so it fails to fit into his dichotomy

Who invited this commie goober to the thread? He sounds like a fucking robot lmao

Katanagatari was really good.

There's literally ONE mention of communism in the movie. Fucking hell, go outside and get some air, you're heavily indoctrinated.
youtube.com/watch?v=eHTe4BnDmLk

I would recommend Porco Rosso, not for an account of any specific event but for how well it recreates the romantic ideal of a period.

This has a similar vibe, really comfy. Although I don't know if it describes an actual event. Available in English and original Frog.

I believe it is you that's heavily indoctrinated by anti-communist Propaganda. I'm just trying to expose for the fact that this film makes a mockery out of socialism and tries to demonize and demoralize the Soviet people who just indured the decade of hell Without socialism AKA runaway capitalism gangsterism.

Get deprogrammed.

lol die faggot

>implying robber barons didn't steal the American dream and burn it to the fucking ground

>Comrade

>Find one lewd of Sacha
>its rape
Well fuck.

Lad, tell me more.

No, in fact i've been stuffed with communist propaganda all my life. My grandparents are die hard communists. Want me to post my grandpa's party membership card?
Pick up an economics book.

Not him but pls post it. I love historical artifacts.

If anything, the movie significantly played down just how brutal and impoverished the Soviet Union was in the 1920s. The genocide of the Cossacks, the famine of 1921, the institutional policy of mass murder under the Cheka, the Red Terror. All go unmentioned, not even hinted at.

youtube.com/watch?v=wrB9y2LsnGw

...

I covered the card number and the name.

cool, got anymore interesting stuff from the soviet era?

That's cool as fuck user.

You're cool. Got anything else from your grandpappy?

All I remember from this movie was a yiddish albino bat and Rasputin being the main bad guy

I don't even know why I got attacked and dissed on here? All I was trying to do was to point to the fact that Don Bluth is an anti-communist Mormon fundamentalist that has a pathological hatred towards socialism and communism. And I was also trying to point out that this film was released in 1997 6 years since the fall of the USSR, the worlds first socialist state but now is in the dustbin of history because of traitor revisionists, the social-imperialists, and the Yeltsin gang of traitors destroyed Lenin's creation. Lenin is not even mentioned in the fucking film! Comrade Lenin is not praised at all, instead Bluth uses Rasputin as the villain in the movie because him already being an anti-communist propagandist for the American imperialists, he wouldn't dare to insult the Soviet people any further by including Lenin as the "villain" in the movie.

I don't get why I'm the one being attacked here?

I'm pretty sure Lenin would have had Rasputin executed as an enemy of the people if the other noblemen hadn't done it first.

it's been fun, but you're trying to hard.
