I don't think theres a way to move fiat into the fiat wallet on coinbase, but this is theoretically the fastest way to trade on Coinbase/GDAX

I'm asking about buying with a card with low fees, most people here seem to think that it's better to buy on an exchange but all I see with those is wire transfer to fiat on the site and then buy with that for either no fee or .25% or something

Yes. Out of all exchanges to leave your crypto on, coinbase is the best, as shown from their response to the flash crash on GDAX(they literally reimbursed everyone), but anything can happen and it could be gone in a second. Only leave crypto on exchanges if you intend on trading.
2. They won't reimburse you for hard forks. So if you held bitcoin, ethereum in Coinbase, they wont give you your BCH, or your etc, which is essentially free money. Same thing with the OmiseGo Airdrop, you won't get your OMG tokens(even if its a small amount)
