No mathematician but after wiki-ing bayesian probability, and looking over some of the methods used in your pdf, seems like a bot using this would base decisions on what are essentially past resistance/support points. This is what many of the technical analysis patterns, like the head and shoulders, try to exemplify.
Humans will inherently make the same assumptions. We'll assume a resistance point in the recent past, will be a resistance point on the next up swing, etc.
