Is it possible to escape student loans by leaving the U.S and just starting a new life in another country...

is it possible to escape student loans by leaving the U.S and just starting a new life in another country? i speak spanish so i can start a new life in any south american country. i was thinking costa rica

yes, but you can never come back.

pay your debts,, scum

I think if you join the peace corps they forgive some of your student loans

I'd be heading to central America if I were you. Costa Rica is awesome. I have a flight there next month

IMO, college is a huge scam so I would feel no remorse fucking them over.

Follow your heart OP

You need to be in a country that the us does not extradite you. So you either have to get across the Atlantic or Pacific. Go to like China, Africa Russia, etc and avoid uncle Sam.

Probably over 50% of current millenals will never be able to pay their student loans. Usa is one fucked up country their government dont protect stupid kids at all they all walk into the college debt scam blinders on

Except Russia and China do not accept poor fucks in their nations, that why they don't have niggers btw

yep , they would rather help the rats at israel before their own people

they might know where i am if i buy a one way ticket to another country. best bet would be to drive south of the border.

>they don't protect stupid kids
>government regulates crypto
>reeeeee

Argentina/Chile, maaaaybe South of Brazil (Curituba/etc...) are the only real alternatives.

just make minimum payment for 25 years then you're forgiven. just pay tax on forgiven amount

You shouldn't assume that you would be allowed to board a flight with a one way ticket to another country anyway. It is forbidden by most airlines.

How much do I need realistically saved up to retire in one of these shit holes and live comfy with some whores? 500k ?

Help Veeky Forums .

This is not actually bad plan.

u.s dollar has more value there. most americans go south of the border to retire because cost of living is cheaper.

Sure, if you plan on dying relatively young and spending no more than like $15 000 per year.

nope. then just take a payment plan with the irs... continue making minimum payments... unless you're a retard it's hard to get fucked in the US because of all the gibmedats

You could invest the 500k and have a decent chance of making 10% annually. Even a conservative 5% would give you a continuous 25k income which could be a lot in some countries.

Yep.

t. I did this

They forgive it all, but you have to stay in for 10 years. OP would be better off joining the military for 4 years and using the GI bill to forgive all his loan debt

You need a realistic $1500 a month in most "cheap" countries to live a quality of life resembling what welfare recipients in the US enjoy. Ultra cheap countries like Vietnam you can get by on 1k a month, but there really isnt any way to live anything remotely like you would in the US

Story?

I would love to do this.

5% isn't conservative, investing for retirement is playing the long game and it is easy to lose money in a calendar year even if you've invested wisely

take the MGTI Pill.

You would need to claim asylum in a country that will not let you be extradited. Basically you're going to have to go to russia.

That's a little inflated. Its not that hard to make money.

If you can't make a consistent 5% annually when the historical average is 6-7% then you suck lol.

That is why I will pay the bare minimum even though my loan amount is very very manageable. Why should I pay my loan off when faggot McFuck who majored in history cant pay of his?

Extradite? Lol idiot
It's not illegal to have a debt
Move to a country without debt collectots

Historical average is driven up massively by the last 15 years low interest environment.

Measure historical average until before the dotcom bubble and the tale is different.

say hello to.Miguel Sanchez

In the grand scheme of things, your student loans are so insignificant compared to debts that are over $500K-$1mil.

The gov't would not bother to go try and find you if you seriously left the country to start over somewhere else.

why you should listen to me:
i owe around $40K in student loans and haven't paid a cent since 2014. The Treasury kept garnishing my tax returns. The next step would be them garnishing my wages, so I quit my wagecuck job. I still live in the USA, and the IRS/Treasury still mails me paper collection notices and bills but I just nignore them. They still have not come after me (yet) but eventually they will, and by then I'll be in Tijuana getting my dick sucked.

This is so untrue. In Greece you can rent a 1 bedroom for less than $250 a month. Food is also way cheaper. South africa is the same, you can get by way cheaper.
