What did he do wrong?

what did he do wrong?

He went full retard

Nothing

Fucked up.

It was just supposed to be a prank. He wasn't supposed to actually cut people's heads off.

...

He went insane from the syphilis

Someone post revolution is love, revolution is life

Absolutely nothing wrong and if you disagree then fuck off Girodin

Didn't kill enough aristos before dying.

How could one man be so based?

he realized it was in human nature to believe ion god, so he created a substitute

He's been wrongly vilified. Robespierre wanted to rein in the revolution and create a republic of virtue. He smacked down the proto-socialist far far left that was starting to get support amongst the sans-culottes. So, yeah, sure, he had people guillotined. But the indiscriminate horrors people sometimes associate with the revolution was before his time. The people actually responsible for the horrors were already dead, either they had self-cannibalized, or were killed by Robespierre. Except Marat, that fucker got what he deserved another way.

Was he slightly autistic and high af on Enlightenment? Absolutely. Was the Cult of the Supreme Being a deist circlejerk? God yes. But the reactionnary movement that ended him blamed him for all the horrors that happened since 1789, when he had little to do with it, and he became the symbol of the absolute batshit stuff that went on.

>I Know Nothing About the French Revolution: the Post

...

The Terror actually wasn't nearly the worst part. The Infernal Collumns killed 40k in 3 months in a sparsely populated rural region.

Both numerically, and share of the population wise it's the Syrian Civil War on steroids using mostly bayonets .

That said the Terror was bad.

The whole Revolution and Napoleon wars were pretty crazy.

So it's fair to say he was a moderate voice of the revolution? I'm a brainlet on the topic.

Absolutely not. He was the terror.

30 something year olds should never lead a big country

Ah, my bad

Should have revealed the list of people he wanted to guillotine before the left and right rallied against him.

Other than that he did nothing wrong
