But from my experience (and looking at history) it's funny how always the ethnic groups most bitter about White colonialism were the lighter-skinned nonwhite-passing groups: lighter-skinned mestizos and mulattoes in the Americas, Maghrebis in North Africa, coloureds in South Africa, Gujaratis in India, Japanese in East Asia, and so on.

It's like being stuck between two worlds leads to identity conflicts that have to be solved by radically siding with one side or the other.
