the ANC were socialist in the 80s, but when they took power they were pressured by the West (surprise surprise) into signing international trade treaties that essentially robbed them of the ability to solve poverty. South Africa became just another right wing state with huge inequality preyed upon by predatory capitalists from inside and out.
So if the point of this thread is to imply that what the ANC did was wrong, then I agree, the Post apartheid years are a textbook example of how western rightwing interference in Africa is destroying countries.
