Knowledge, fulfilling career, friends, family, hobby
Would be a lot easy just to sell all your belongings for a weapon and venture to the holyland confident in your divine purpose

Life is a joke. Since it's a joke, it's completely expendable. Do whatever the hell you want and none of it will matter. You're in freefall.

Finding an existence that feels authentic and fulfilling to you as an individual and living it.

Communism.

>communism
>the only buildings on the pic are a Christian church and a fortress built by the tsars
Hmmm

Which only proves that communism isnt against tradition and rewrighting history. Under capitalism these building wiuld be destroyed to build a mall.

More like communism can't build shit and anything beautiful in the USSR was created by the Russian monarchy.

>destroyed to build a mall
Commies detonated the Koenigsberg castle and build this in its place

what's an example of an imperial palace in Europe being destroyed to build a mall? Was Independence Hall in the USA destroyed to build a mall?

to renew energy in whatever form it takes

America bombed the entierty of europe to dust only to rebuild it in its image. After the war europe was absorbed into two empires. Each tried to reshape its new lands according to its image.

All of western civilization was destroyed and turned into one giant mall and parking lot where we all rezide

Compare Rome or Munich to Kaliningrad

>i-it was just a metaphor
Fuck off brainlet

Sorry forgot i was talking to an 8th grader. Want me to explain it on apples?

Rome or munich is like kaliningrad.
Okey my turn. Compare alexandria or siettle to tel aviv.

Historical buildings in Rome are preserved, in Kaliningrad they were literally blown up by TNT and replaced by commieblocks.
>Tel Aviv
Same shit as USSR really. Commieblocks everywhere. Haifa and Ashdod are even worse, the only Israeli place with some preserved history and taste is Jrusalem.

I was joking. What do i care about tel aviv. But seriously, if you want real comparison. Kaliningrad has no niggers and homosexuals unlike munich and rome. But thanks to kapitalism that is slowly changing.

>no niggers
Yes
>no homosexuals
No

The most philosophically enlightened person on earth is the average hardworking, down-to-earth dad. The purpose of life is to be a good dad and make your kids want to be good dads when they grow up. A dad who can fix his own house is a man who fixes the universe itself.

As i said thanks to the fall of communism this slawly changing. Back in the ussr people didnt know what homosexuality even was.

After a hard day of work dad puts a white robe and hood on and goes in the woods to burn a nigger on a stake with the other dads.

There were open faggots in the Soviet government like Chicherin, user.

Amen.

This.

Okey pal. I trust you on the subject of faggots. You are clearly the expert in this field.

>replying with personal insult to a factual information
Why so mad?

Find a constructive way to take some risks.

In a biological sense, reproduction is the meaning of life. In a spiritual sense, you can do whatever you want in life, just try to enjoy yourself while having a positive impact wherever you go. You can accomplish this by loving your neighbor as you love yourself.

humour

learning to laugh at/with the absurdity of life's struggles

irony

finding humour in everything

good music

comfy bed to lay on and trawl internet

not drinking alcohol or taking any drugs

dressing well, presenting good to others

having a job or studying

not being a depressed faggot who doesn't enjoy anything

>In a biological sense, reproduction is the meaning of life

this isn't true, evolution has no teleos

genes which code for making reproductions of themselves are more likely to show up in subsequent generations than those that don't

so it looks like evolution is *trying* to reproduce, when in reality it's just a selection bias. you don't see those organisms/genes that weren't coded for reproduction

to get dubs

Checked.

...

this

>there is no fate but what we make

You before others

This. Legitimately as close as you get to an objective meaning.

The closest thing to an objective goal in life is reproduction. In reality we all need to find our own meaning, if any.

the secret to life: correctly interpreting the signs and symbols
the meaning of life: to become a symbol

hello, fellow absurdist.

also this, but unironically.

There is no intrinsic meaning to life and the constant search for one is absurd, but that doesn't mean it's not worth living.

i've moved beyond absurdism

I think people spouting the absurdist answer proabably never understood the purpose of symbolism, ofc they never really understood the purpose for anything.

Living your life by your emotions.

Life has no meaning, Devote your life to knowledge, fucking girls, doing drugs, It does not matter because all your memories cease to exist when you die. My advice, follow your human nature.

There was no sex in the ussr period.

The universe is evolving into more and more complex material structures / information systems. The human species is currently the most refined of such systems that we know of; the human brain is matter having achieved enough complexity to understand or at least question its own nature, and to generate abstract information on its own. I guess our best hope to ever find a "meaning" is to consciously help this evolution towards more complexity/abstraction in both ourselves and the universe as a whole.

>s to consciously help this evolution towards more complexity/abstraction in both ourselves and the universe as a whole

So Intelligence..

Well, not everyone

The 0.00001% that make an influence to futher the human race

from a personal worldview I regard the biological phenomenon of 'life' as without intrinsic purpose or meaning. The earth evolved into a 'living' and changing chemical system, much the same way that stars evolve into their respective systems and states.

"Meaning" (rather than its co-part of purpose) is a strictly human feature, and serves much the same purpose as in rulers. It's meant to divide, organize, and aid in making sense of the stream of experience. We chop up the experience of office in the house and make it distinct, with verbal barriers; so as to communicate what part of house we mean to other occupants, further we'll chop up office into chair, desk, lamp, book, etc.

This procedure is only useful to other people who are clued in to the verbal rules we're using at the time. If you pick new verbal rules with unconventional barriers, no one will know what the meaning of your cues are (such as in code-languages, or the disparities between other languages).

As far as purpose goes, we assign experiences with meanings in special contexts. The word computer may be more or less intelligible, but the purpose is up to the ascriber given a context, or whether they understand what a computer does and can do.

From this model, meaning and purpose are both ascribed; in a personless world, there would be no one to observe and categorize experience in this way, and therefor no meanings, purposes, or specialized divisions for those experiences.

The fruition of your life will see to pick up prior meanings/purposes which were ascribed before your time, or to generate new ones and attempt to make them communicatable/agreeable.

The secret is that there is no meaning.

trips of truth, but you can't be a good father with no good people around you

It didn't bomb Prague. That city is amazing.

The truth with a brainlet twist.

the meaning of life is setting mankind on its right path, towards the stars.

>average hardworking, down-to-earth dad
that sounds like the LEAST "philosophically enlightened" type of person.

>late
i feel like a failure
what a fucing bitch

They're too busy living their lives in an enlightened way to bother explaining the nuances of dad philosophy to you.

t. dogposter

>mfw Plato said dogs are philosphers

You're confusing philosophically enlightened with philosophically aware

1. Don't give a fuck
2. Enjoy the small things
3. Repeat until you died.

That's basically it.

>dude, like, life has no real meaning, you are in freefall and stuff so just do wathever you want man, do drugs and watch porn as much as you like

God, absurdists are such plebs, especcialy the ones that propose hedonism. People figured out millenia ago (like the Buddha or Zeno of Citium that indulging of desires just lead misery

Want meaning? Accomplish stuff that makes the worl better.

There is no meaning.

The fact that we are an assortment of atoms aware of our own existence is monumentally coincidental at best and hilariously absurd at worst.

As such, there are two ways of living out your short existence in this universe:

The first is knowing that absolutely nothing matters and being aware of this fact that nothing you do will leave a mark except to maybe the most intimate people in your life (and even that will be washed away given enough time) and thus, do whatever you wish. Aspire to nothing, because you are nothing. Drown yourself in hedonistic pleasure without regards to the consequences.

On the other hand, knowing your existence is meaningless can make you free from the very bonds of fate itself. You can choose to be a good person, exercise temperance and make decisions that will benefit the aggregate of consciousnesses that we call society. Leave a mark and create your own destiny, if for nothing else but to prove to yourself that you can.

The former is more fun, but the latter is more fulfilling, even if it's ultimately a pipe dream.

your conscious experience is not an assortment of atoms

don't die

If it's worth living then it has some kind of meaning.

True, but in order to have the experience of consciousness we need those atoms.

It's worth living only if you decide it is. Thus, you ascribe meaning to it. There is certainly not an intrinsic meaning.

However, your life is precious simply because you have only one to live (to the best that we know) and as such you to waste it is an insult to the many other people who could have been or will never be because you were born in their stead.

Have you considered spending less time on /pol/ and maybe get a girlfriend? Or at least to move out of your mom's basement?

armed with the knowledge we are perhaps the only intelligent lifeforms floating on a rock in an infinitely expanding black thing that apparently has no edge or border then its very hard to find meaning and to not just think "fuck it"

there is just so much to life that we can't comprehend. how do you start philosophising this stuff without driving yourself insane with concepts and theories knowing that you will never know for sure?

All the people ITT that say the same nihilistic thing, "life has no meaning," live their lives as if it does. They get up, eat food they prefer, do things they prefer over other things, work towards personal goals, etc. What you say and what you do are not always in alignment. If life had no meaning, no point to it, then they're would be no reason to study history or do anything else for that matter. The suffering of living would be worse than any hedonistic pleasure you could indulge in.

tl;dr if life is truly meaningless then the rational thing to do is to kill yourself while feeling as little pain as possible.

well i guess survival instincts trump philosophy

perhaps you are taking it too literally - "meaningless" as in no inherent meaning given to us, unless you count our biological needs as meaning in itself

>The fact that we are an assortment of atoms aware of our own existence

is it normal to feel an extreme sense of dread/depersonalisation when thinking about this? its so horrifyingly meta and torturous in its own way

I just think people are lying to themselves when they say that life is meaningless. If life is meaningless, then nothing you do matters, so you don't HAVE to do anything. You can do anything you want. But if life is meaningful then what you do does actually matter and there's a lot of responsibility that comes with that. I believe people who say that life is meaningless use it as justification for not doing anything tough/responsible.

The meaning and the secret of life is scat

>Under capitalism these building wiuld be destroyed to build a mall.
The funniest thing is that this is true, and already happening in several places in JEWSA and Europe

1. human flourishing
2. there is no secret

to get off this rock while we can, and we're in the midst of our only chance. the low hanging fruit has been harvested and incorporated into this iteration. if we have to start over from scratch we'll never get back to a restore point as advanced as we are now.
we're programmed to colonize, to spread. wanderlust. if we don't exfiltrate earth we'll find an excuse to kill one another and then fight over what's left.
we need a goal for all of humanity to work toward together. right now we're just spinning our wheels arguing about trump and skin color and other meaningless nonsense.
this goal would give us meaning. right now we're living like humanity is on summer break. if we won't give it our best shot then we might as well put the anit-natalists into power and let the octopi or orcha have their chance because humanity is just playing with their smartphones.

When I was younger and first thought about such things, the existential dread is rightfully horrifying because it is, to the best of our limited knowledge, essentially true. I think NOT being terrified of such a prospect is insane.

Now, I simply acknowledge it and repress it with masturbation and dank memes.

Escalating the social hierarchy by working hard on something that impress people.

Also, this.

The biological imperative is to proliferate the species. We have conquered our world, we now must turn to the stars.

Because life in this universe is all we know; all any of us will ever know.

The prospect of our consciousness returning to the unthinking oblivion from whence we sprang terrifies people to the point that they should make do with what they have in front of them. As such, most people choose not to kill themselves and that is why I do as well.

I will welcome it when it comes, but I am in no rush to get there.

Kill yourself
