WW2 needs to fucking die

Most overrated, most overused conflict in history. Only attracts absolute plebs who know nothing about anything else. Only produces cancerous discussions. If you care about WW2 you are a pleb and a brainlet

Yeah there is way too much focus on it. It's basically normie history

>only produces cancerous discussions

strike down bad history

But the 1930's and 40's were so long ago. Anything older is useless at this point.

If World War 2 was so good, why isn't there a World War 2 2?

>people unironically believe this

WW2 is the most important event in history. Nothing else compares.

The only argument is that certain events in the holocaust are over-focused (i.e. the Holocaust) and some are under-focused (i.e. the role that rebel groups in Japanese/Nazi occupied territories played in the overall conflict)

Everything about the modern world can be traced back to the Second World War, absolutely nothing that exists currently is not in some way related to that conflict.
The same can be said for everything before it, as all conflicts/inventions/etc. before WW2 directly contributed to the conflict.

Such as racial disparities due to European colonialism, religious conflicts, Industrial revolution, etc.

> certain events in the holocaust
certain evens in the war***

good question. i think a mini one is coming up Nov 4th with LARPers

woke

Disagree, WWI was really what set the world into the state it is today, WWII just exacerbated it.

it's only probably the most important event in the modern world. but no stop talking about it because people are ignorant about it, which will only lead to more ignorance on the subject. good thinking there bucko

WW1 was a battle of WW2

>WW2 is the most important event in history
No, that would be the invention of writing.

ww2 is essentially an extension of ww1. trouble is more people pay attention to ww2 and know little of ww1 other than treaty of versailles and trench warfare

nazi mysticism is really all that draws me into it (and it does quite a fuckin bit)

World War I was the death of the West.
The Interwar Period was a rest, a pregnancy.
World War II was the birth of the new order.
The Post-War Period is a new age.

World War II is our new founding myth.

...

xD

...

Imperial Japan weaponry and mindset for me.

It depends, really. The meme history focus that WW2 gets tends to be very myopic and, like most meme history, focused almost exclusively on battles without any real look at the big picture.

Just because the pop-history side of things tends to have too small a focus to really understand the war's significance, however, doesn't mean that it isn't incredibly important or interesting. Like said, it's quite possibly the most significant event in history in terms of its impact on how the world is today. An entirely new world order was forged out of the war, and with it so many pieces of the "old" died off. WW1 may have had the beginnings of this, but it was really WW2 that caused the most significant shifts, particularly in just the general way people think nowadays (at least in the West).

For example, it could reasonably be argued that the Holocaust and most of the other atrocities committed in WW2 were a logical extension of the mindset that led to many of the "lighter" atrocities in WW1 like Ober Ost. But the aftermath of WW2 has caused such a radical shift in ideologies and worldviews that today such atrocities seem almost alien with how far removed they are from modern ways of thinking.

>every normie loves ww2
>they mention some obscure fact or person from it
>I tell em I don't know that
>I thought you knew everything about history
That and the civil war just attract normies

CW is patrician though

Our founding myth is the invention of Internet.

The new order set by WWII was that of the economic prosperity caused by reconstruction, marshall plan, rising to first world economies, etc..
The post war age ended with the apparition of constant high unemployment levels, and economic slowdown, more or less when the wall fell in Berlin

...

WW2 led to the exact same outcomes as if there was no WW2:
>communism taking over half of Europe
>decolonization
>creation of Israel
>creation of the atom bomb
Only difference is it killed millions of people while changing essentially nothing. WW1 was the big game changer.

XDDDDDD

Every time I see this tryhard far-right glitch art I cringe so fucking hard.
It's clearly a desperate attempt at trying to motivate smelly /pol/tards to get off their arses and trim some weight to become "REDPILLED WHITE UBERMENSCH CHRISTIAN LEGIONNAIRES"
just kill yourself

>when you wander out of your safe space and make an ass of yourself

>REDPILLED WHITE UBERMENSCH CHRISTIAN LEGIONNAIRES
nothing wrong with this

The Finnish Civil War?

only that the title itself is filled with contradiction, LARPiness, and faggotry. Not only that, but no one, at least amongst the virgins in /pol/ are even worthy of such a title.

go outside, remove that smelly unwashed white tank-top of yours, and get some sunlight. I heard the weather is nice in the Bible-Belt, you mongrel.

You sound triggered to hell and back.

>this triggers the ethnonationalist

>defaulting to cuckold porn
Already?

>WW2 is the most important event in history. Nothing else compares.
To recent history, sure.

Not even recent history. WW1 marked the end of traditional monarchies in continental Europe and the advent or republican nation states, and the rise of communism. What the fuck did WW2 even change?

BTFO's Europe's centrality to Western History? Europe is a periphery of the US now.

> If you care about ww2 you are a pleb
Considering every member of my family except one (the kid the family sent to America just in case) died defending Warsaw, yeah, fuck you.

>be me, watching those cringe-worthy "HoI-IV memes" videos
>the "jokes" are litterally always as follows:

>le Italy switching sides when most convenient, which even if true, shrinks down an incredibly complex moment in the history of Italy ro a dumb punch-line
>le Soviet Union gets beat up, but cue the SU anthem, and suddenly it gets back up and whoops Axis ass, even though the fate of the Eastern front was much more German ups and downs, and then Russian ups and downs, than people imagine
>something something Maginot line, even though the Germans had to rethink their entire plan to circumvent it, and then had to play on Franco-British expectations in an extremely risky bet
>"haha wasn't Germany so wacky eating up all their neighbors, and then pretending like thzt was the end of it" shit
>people flatter themselves about being "such a history nerd xD" in the comments

youtube.com/watch?v=M6UDsOMnDac

Go check out some EUIV meme videos, it's the same shit if not worse. Grand strategy players are pure cancer

>mass tank warfare
Literally how can other conflicts even hope to compete?

>MUH HURITAGE
neck yourself burger

world war 1 is in all respects is an infinity more interesting.

...

I'm binging some because you've brought it up, and it is pretty embarassing that there too every joke has to revolve around "le big spooky France/Ottomans", then they just leave in time for a "le small fan-favorite country like Venetia" inside joke, and that's as far as their reach goes.

I expected more from autists who can sit upwards of 20 hours straight in front of a fucking map.

> great blog post! definitely upmortyed XD

Let's ask the question why is WW2 used so frequently?
It's because WW2 is perfect for fiction. WW2 is a real life event where there were clear good guys and bad guys. In most wars this isn't case. For someone involved in Arts, Movies/TV, or Video Games this a godsend. Its a script that writes itself . That is why WW2 is used so often as opposed to other wars

>inb4 muh allied war crimes
No war crime the allies committed compares to the war crimes of the Axis
>inb4 da nazis were good

>It's because WW2 is perfect for fiction. WW2 is a real life event where there were clear good guys and bad guys

Because they're playing the more normie games of the series like HOI4 and EU4.
There are basically zero meme videos about Vic 2 or HOI3.

youtube.com/watch?v=S59anBAE6VM

>"""Brother""" wars
Europeans are not brothers. No Kraut is my brother.

>one of the threads on the HoI4 KR subforum right now is "Who is Heinrich BrĂ¼ning?"

t. moishe nosenberg

>HOI3
HOI 3 is a cancer meme game too, don't flatter yourself. The historical accuracy went down the drain after HOI2. Wrong ministers, wrong OOB, simplified events, historical descriptions turned into one-liners, and so on.

HOI4 is casual shit but HOI3 is only for people that want >muh grand strategy without any historical accuracy behind it.
Good mechanics but poor research behind it.

I still prefer (modded) Darkest Hour over any other HOI game.

This. Ignore all the other faggots in this thread.

Yeah.. Darkest Hour is amazing.
Probably the best in terms of historical accuracy along with HoI2 with the Stony Road mod.

Yes, HOI3 greatly lacks decisions, events, ministers, and general historical flavor compared to HOI2/DH. There's mods that add these, but the base game should have been better.
I prefer the mechanical changes of HOI3 though, especially the supply system. The one in HOI2/DH is decent enough, but its system of instant transportation of supplies from capital/port to the front lines with no regard to infrastructure, bottlenecks, and other issues doesn't compare to HOI3's. Being able to put 50 divisions in the Sahara with no supply issues puts me off sometimes.

well said

once again well said

What about HOI 4?

you sound like you lack a good comeback

/Thread

Well am I wrong?
