EUMENES DID NOTHING WRONG
...
>Alexander dies
>two real successors in the forms of Ptolemy and Seleucius
>everyone else says fuck this I'm out
>fucking Parthians and Medians are all we wuzz persian an shit
Seriously, has anyone else had an empire literally splinter quite like Alexander? Even the HRE maintained the notion of nominal imperial powers as it disintegrated.
I'm glad it only lasted 10 years.
...
...
>Parthians
They are literally extremely closely related to the Persians and spoke an intelligible language with them.
>Medians
Basically are just more settled Persians than the Persians themselves, so its kind of justified. I mean fucking Cyrus the Great was half-Mede anyway from his mother's side.
I would describe the fall of Alexanders empire closest to the fall of the mongol empire, both were conquered in very short times and didn't have a lot of time to centralize and fell after the death of their main ruler/rulers and became several successor states
...
>The "Silk Road" literally means "roads"
What the fuck even is this board
why couldn't the mongols into india?
mountains? or didn't care?
Mongols had 87 fucking years.
The Mongols specialized in open plane steppe warfare and India would have been far to hard to conquer with all of the jungles it has. Anyway lets focus Alexander the great
It would take a lot longer than 80 years to centralize and keep an empire as large as theirs under tight reigns, even the Romans who were pathetic when compared to the size of the Mongol empire and one of the most centralized empires in history couldn't keep their shit together
Mithradates x Tigranes is my favourite yaoi shipping
>It would take a lot longer than 80 years to centralize and keep an empire
No it doesn't.
Name one empire that was even close to the size of the Mongol empire and was conquered in the time it was that was able to survive
>Pro tip you cant
Alexander was nothing
True victory is a battle without casualties
A tearless moment forever remembered in the accounts of contemporary historians
Rather than a degenerate modern fuck boi who is not mentioned in any contemporary text of note
Perdiccas failing to keep the empire united is one of the greatest travesties of human history
Did Tigranes accomplish much? All I know is that battle he got btfo at against the Romans.
it does if you behead everyone
what about theTimurids?
...
Well it left this behind, which is just fascinating
They feared the poo warrior
soviet union :^)
Is this IRL Asterix and Obelix meet Cleopatra?
wow... so seleucids were actually kangs... really makes you think
Ugly borders tbqh famalam
>those seleucid borders
what was he thinking????
>mongol empire lasted for ~70 years before breaking apart
>Soviet Union lasted for ~70 years before breaking apart
:tonking:
There's a reason it didn't last.
They tried several times.
They never got past the open plains of Punjab desu.
It lasted longer than the US has been around for. 250 years isnt a flash in the pan
