Bump

>In short, the “smart” contracts are actually “dumb” (simple) without external data! This is a fundamental limitation that is solved by ‘oracles’ securely linking to external data and in turn, making smart contracts truly smart!

Oh, I see.

obvious counterfud shilling by a vested interest. can it beat the Bitaliks comments. sorry no
bye bye

You posted almost the exact same comment on the other thread with this news. So.. What's your agenda?

Not sure if sarcastic, but that makes perfect sense.

>can it beat the Bitaliks comments
The comment where the NEET autist millionaire with zero concept of money said "Oracles are awesome"?

No sarcasm, genuine interest.

wtf are they talking about, oracels are have been around and used since the start of ethereum

...

he also said he doesnt think the oracle is even worth 32m . you can look at his tweets yourself for that one.

obviously the purpose of that tweet was to make everyone aware that smartcontracts.com were providing free oracle services for eth/usd and btc/usd, they stopped doing that around 30th of june tho because are cheap fucks

Not like this.

The oracle is just part of chainlink.
A pile of bricks isn't worth 250k, but a house is.

Also, Vitalik has no idea what money is.

I think link will at least double this month, can't wait to buy some when it hits a real exchange since I missed the ICO

>chainlink gets fudded hard on Veeky Forums
>vitalik buys into the fud and gets worried it might be a scam
>deletes his tweet and sells his LINK
lmao

Fuck, I didn't realize how big of an issue the oracle problem actually was for smart contracts.

Chainlink will be in top 5 crypto by years end
well played LINK friends

> Not like this.

no there are many decentralized oracles services which are almost identical to chainlink but better since they don't require a token to use

just from an engineering standpoint nobody is going to use the LINK token when they can use ETH for oracles

They're doing a live demo on 16 October, at a fucking SWIFT conference.

Fucking SWIFT.
The company that connects financial institutions with each other is demoing tech that connects financial institutions with the blockchain.

deluded linkies.

last week you probably thought he was a god.

now he doesnt buy into the mania over a simple oracle surrounded that he would write himself if he didnt have a community ecosystem and he doesnt know shit.

>no there are many decentralized oracles services
Name them.
inb4 Ripple (not decentralized) or completely unrelated oracle forecasting tech like Augur.

>when they can use ETH for oracles
Even Vitalik said oracle solution would be built on top of ETH by someone else.
See blog.ethereum.org/2014/07/22/ethereum-and-oracles/
>the most exciting end-user-centric innovation is likely what will be built on to

All he ever did was promote oracles. Nothing changed at all.

> Name them.

um reality keys and oraclize?

> Even Vitalik said oracle solution would be built on top of ETH by someone else.

yeah and it's been built like 100 times already, ethroll uses a random oracle for example

the LINK token is worthless because nobody is going to use both LINK and ETH, imagine if you had to pay LINK and ETH to dice on ethroll, which will be the case because more often than not services make the user pay the oracle fee, better to just use one currency ETH

>oraclize
>reality keys
Acts as data provider, so not decentralized.

You're misunderstanding the very basics of Chainlink here. The point is to have a network of external parties supplying the information they need. Not having those parties "trust" a central data provider.
That's the whole point actually.

>yeah and it's been built like 100 times already
Yes, Oracles have been used as tools many times. Like forecasting.
What you use them for is what counts.

>the LINK token is worthless because nobody is going to use both LINK and ETH
You can't use ETH because ETH is not supported in the node network you need.
Like Vitalik said, the solution would be built on top.
