Irish piper

I wish all their soldiers wore this 2bh. It's way more unique.

The British Army have something similar in their Irish regiments.

I think I do slightly prefer the British version because they get a spiffy cape

Any Civil war uniforms - but especially Russian Civil War - always make me think "man, if the losing side hadn't spent time making uniforms, maybe they'd had a shot". I mean, sure, the Reds had create a new look, but surely the Whites could have just used Tsarist uniforms and been done with it.

The belt placement is weird.

Uniforms worn by the Croats that fought under the French in the 30 years' war. The neck tie (scarf) they are wearing was later adopted by the French aristocracy and evolved to be what you wear with your suit these days.

No more Red Trousers though >:/

He has a really small head. Still stylish.

Not only are they ugly but impractical as hell too. Awful.

Holy sweet goddamn Jesus, where did you get a spoonful of this nationalistic pseudo-historical bullshit?

The neck band/stock/cravat exists from the 16thC onwards, as a less elaborate alternative to the ruff, and to protect the bib of the doublet from getting soiled.

t. kraut

What does "Ulan" mean anyway? All I know is that turkposter says it a lot, and I'm wondering what that has to do with 19th century kraut regiments, if indeed the two uses of the word are even related.
