World population in the year 1800 A.D., when the Earth had finally pretty much 1000000000 people

So many chinks yet they accomplished nothing

Most of them were uneducated peasants.

This and the fact that at some point, China gets complacent with the Asian theater and /comfy/s out of life. When the Euros come along, China is sitting on centuries of wasted time.

>Japs had almost as large a population as the entire russian empire

I am no stranger to the discrepancy between agricultural and developed societies but that's downright stunning

What does it mean by 'holy roman empire'?
Because part of prussian and hapsburg lands was in the holy roman empire

For which they only had themselves to blame.

Didn't Portugal get to 1 million people, with Brazil included?

They still have almost the same population as Russia.
East Asia is packed.

Meme. China wasn't sitting still, but Great Britain (and by extension, Europe) took off so fast that it might as well have been. 1800's China would have been a difficult prospect for any European power; 1830 is when the fruits of divergence became apparent.

It's because of differences in agriculture between regions. Rice is packed with calorie and far more productive than wheat, but requires intensive irrigation and warmer climes to grow well.

This would be true for basically everywhere though.

The Japanese were specialised on getting as much out of the land they were settling for thousands of years without pause as efficient as they could.
The Russians were busy populating all the land they conquered from East Asian Hordes since they adopteed Christianity and the Caucasus,Northern&Western Russia had unuseful climate or were mostly made up of woods.

HRE means all HRE, Silesia or Hungary are not part of the HRE but belong to either the Prussians or Habsburg.

Still haven't

Doesn't sound like nothing to me

British Empire is basically the Raj here right?

The figures are in tens of millions, brainlet.

I wish I could drop all 36,381 volumes of the Siku Qanshu on your empty skull.

I'd prefer an empty skull than to fill it with something so useless.

Yep. No Raj, no Empire.

That's not a lot accomplished considering the timespan of Chinese civilisation.

This places China as one of the least developed places on Earth? What is the average here?

Idk, they seemed content with their place in the world. Qing dynasty seems /comfy/ tbqh family

Ok then, it still not much considering the developments of Europe after the renaissance.

>european tribes raid rome
>civilization collapses in europe for 1000 years
>wow look they got back on track

Then it was Europe after the Renaissance that was developing at a normal level? Everywhere else was abnormally slow? Okay.

Arguably, Europe after the Renaissance wasn't really developing that fast, either. Throughout the 18th century, there were a lot of areas in which Europeans were lagging, namely irrigation, sanitation, and the like. Europe only really started taking off at the ass-end of the Enlightenment.

>civilisation collapses
kys retard

they built up enough population to withstand multiple genocide level events in the next 200 years

>taiping rebellion
>boxer rebellion/end of qing civil wars
>bubonic plague and shit
>famines to go along with all this
>japanese genocide in the Second Sino-Japanese War
>literally dumping chem weapons and bubonic plague on the chinese to try to get rid of them en masse
>chinese civil then happens, kills millions
>then mao takes over
>purges: kill millions
>great leap forward famine: worst famine of 20th century
>cultural revolution: basically another civil war that kills millions by summary execution or sending them to labor camps to die

but because of their retarded fertility they still have over a billion after all that

Im not wrong. Provide one way romes collapse disnt cause europe to fall into barbarism

1. The Eastern Roman Empire continued to exist until 1453
2. Within the first hundred years of the collapse of Rome the Franks went on to form the Merovingian and then Carolingian empire which actually saved Europe from the Umayyads
3. The Frankish empire would form the basis of Europe's medieval kingdoms, the Papal State became independent and the Lombards created the Italian city states that would foster the Renaissance
I mean, it took a hit, but Christian Europe quickly thrived and forged a new continental order.

>Gr*ek larp empire
>Franks
>Bulgars
>soon to be moor

They poo in loos, wear pants, have decent military and generally isn’t fractured like g*rms. Also relevant enough to garner attention from other empires.

>christian
And then haltered all scientific progress until the renaissance. Thats my point. Europe stagnated

Could someone translate this to english for me

>*tips fedora

>muh aethism boogeyman
Im christian dumbass

you're the one spouting off with the le christian stopping science meme

...

Its not a meme. Its a fact. The catholic church intentionally stifled innovation for centuries

Based varg poster

haha yes we would be exploring the galaxy if it wasn't for le bible

>being this mad over reality
Why are you on Veeky Forums lmao

Nice non-argument

Frankly you seem retarded and I have no interest pursuing a conversation with a shitposter any longer.

Great ad hominem

Actually no. Britain had 5.5 million by themselves.

>it took a hit
Yeah a thousand years long hit.

They still had scientific progress but not in the USUAL places in Europe.
