It's a fuckload of work, you don't get time to unwind or reflect, it's mindless rote tedium from sun up to sundown for less money than you would make as a wagecuck in a factory. The reason farmers have as many children as they can pump into their wife's honeycomb is because more hands working the farm means more chance that you won't die from starvation. You're always one bad harvest away from starvation.

Take away the farm and Bear Grylls style survival becomes your full time job. Now consider that even the experts need to stage that shit because of how hard and thankless it is. And God help you if you break your leg or contract a serious illness but still need to go out foraging because you literally can't afford to take any time off to recover.

Found your ideological problem. Just read a history book. If you are ok with the occasional famine or plauge that could wipe your village off the map or constant tribal warfare you would love it.
