We've moved from Keynesian economics to Neo-Liberal Economics

We've moved from Keynesian economics to Neo-Liberal Economics.

What is the next stage now that Neo-liberalism is rapidly declining? What's the next evolutionary stage?

Universal basic income and technology-driven mass unemployment

Neoliberalism is not declining. There were literally two bumps, one election and one referendum which everyone now regrets. It’s nothing like the nationalism of the 1930s. If people don’t give in to populism and radicalism, society can continue to move forward.

Market Socialism =^)

enlightened (robotic/computerized) imperialism. Into space colonization with oddballs and new spices and dishes of warfare an culture mixed in.

neoliberalism is inherently populist

Consolidation of market into bigger and bigger corporations.

The exact opposite.

> one referendum which everyone now regrets

Fake news.

anarcho primivitism

Communism with Chinese characteristics

This but unironically. Sooner or later the west will be forced to reign in and get the corporations in line because of growing discontent in the general population. State capitalism is the only option in the future.

>which everyone now regrets
Nice try George

the only reason China gets away with its current situation is consistently strong economic growth, its people are still being dicked over by corporations as hard as (if not much harder) than in the west but they can bear it as long as they see their situation improving.

famineism
where automation increases unemployment and the masses have the choice to starve to die fighting rich peoples robot soldiers

Steady state economics is the only logical answer to peak demographics

Neo-Liberaism will only increase. The government is owned by the corporations, and people have no power to stop it. Eventually we'll have a situation similar to , but automation is not necessary, we'll reach this without technology too.

Malthusian collapse.

wanting everyone to be rich, live in peace, and promoting an ideology of giving away power to people is demagougery and populist

Feudalism
Only instead of a landlord, you will have corporation bending you over.

>TBU
I want to fucking rape you

Nobody who runs or owns a business in america gives a fuck about "the corporations". It's an imagined enemy fabricated by idle people who need something to work for with minimal effort (bubbling in whatever the democrat candidate is), shifting responsibility to bureaucracy and exacerbating the real issues.

''Evolution''?
It's all down hill people are talking about automation but what is their to be automated?
most of the west is geared towards the service sector and what is left of industry and agriculture will be out competed or copied and done for cheaper by developing nation.

now that has been proved that free market and globalization works better than socialism the logical step is more globalization, but you never know what can happen after a new global economic crack.

globalism is selling out your countrymen for a 99cent taco and demanding your children pay the tax for it.

I don't have a country, and it's not happening

Socialism

But neoliberalism does neither of those things

>Nobody who runs or owns a business in america gives a fuck about "the corporations"

Bullshit, why else would small shop owners give a stink about a Walmart moving in, or Taxi drivers shitting themselves over Uber?

We should always take care to define our terms. I am always frustrated when neoliberal economics is brought up without mentioning it's most important tennents; free-floating exchange rates, an independant monetary authority with the goal of regulating business cycles and free-capital flows. This is how I see the neoliberals choose their options for the 'impossible trinity'.

With this in mind, I do not particularly see a movement away from floating exchange rates in the places that have them. In fact, the growing skeptisism of the Euro by members of the Eurozone incline me to believe that more countries will seek floating exchange rates in the future, instead of pegged (to the Euro/US Dollar/Basket of goods) or fixed.

I see populist movements asking for the removal of monetary authority independence but many of these voices are only articulating feelings, not strict policy prescriptions and theories. Furthermore, many have done this in the past as well and I don't believe the political will is there, especially when compared to the political will to enact other policies.

Capital controls seem to be making a comeback and are the most likely change to neoliberal othordoxy that could occur. However, the benefits of this change, as well as the implementation of this policy is quite uncertain. Wether this change comes in the form of stricter regulations on FDI or from increased scrutiny by prudential authorities remains to be seen. Nevertheless, the political will for this change does exist.

In short, we should be careful to be clear what we are talking about. Strong, agreed upon definitions are the cornerstone of constructive conversation. We would be wise to use them.

why is the left so bad at memes

>but what is their to be automated?
>the service sector

yep

Austrian Snekonomics

Have fun with your totalitarian state, faggot.

Globally-connected local exchange trading systems based on commodities and the labour theory of value

State capitalism is corporativism you brainlet.

All these people in this thread having zero ground in economics, no degree, no even slightest understanding of how market works and how it interacts with state.
Talking about fate of the world, future and "world problems".
His, please just...

This.

Educate us then, oh wise one.

Free market capitalism

Antidisestablishmentarianistic machinocracy

Further Neoliberal, with the violent backlash of communism

Capitalism started in white western countries and is now helping the chinks the most.

You can’t just make a simple criticism without offering your own answer to OP.

Right wing memes are absolutely not better

Flying gold mansions for the superwealthy, torture cells and chattel slavery for the rest.

>move forward
To what end? Until liberal social mores have taken over to such a degree that the family unit has collapsed entirely and we're all atomised
purple-haired ninnys with no coherent culture, working meme tertiary sector jobs producing useless widgets in the name of global capital?

>radicalism
Silly word which basically boils down "whatever I don't like". There are things which were considered "radical" 100 years ago which are now considered normal. "Radical" is a subjective category defined by whoever happens to be in power in order to paint their opponents as transgressive and insane.

Forget "radical". Something is either true or false.
