Why is America like this?
Because rest of the world had colonies abroad where they could practice slavery&totes not slavery in peace and continue farming cotton&shit. Meanwhile yanks were stupid enough to do so in their own country and thus it led to a pointless armed conflict over a practice that would had become economically unfeasible in couple decades anyway.

Tons of countries have struggled with slavery and civil rights, you just we're special because you people love consuming our media for some reason.
Europe didn't rely on slavery like America did, they forced it on their colonies and when they lost control of those colonies they had no more use for it. They built slavery into our economic system from the get go and entire ruling class emerged in the South because of it.
