Who was the best US president

who was the best US president

Literally the exact opposite

...

He's not even wearing a uniform in that picture. He's just an old dude with alzheimer's who wandered onto the battlefield.

He just wanted to wave the flag desu

>psycho interventionist
Naaaaaaah

He expanded the American hegemony, helping to make us powerful.

>exact opposite
>both racist

The only correct answer.

I bet you like Taft faggot

...

...

/ourlad/

Reminder: There's only one President who nuked Japan, and there's only one president who fired Douglas MacArthur.

There can be only one choice.

No contest

...

Saved our country during one of its most difficult times

Washington.
He should've been made king.

unironically this. the first has still been the best.

>he shouldve been made king
Ok ill admit i laughed

While an American king was never going to happen, it definitely should have.

Not even, his policies actually prolonged the Depression by 10 years.

Barack Obama

Certainly not the best, but one of the best, and definitely the most underappreciated by the American Public

Good choice

With no children of his own, who would be his successor? George Custis?

It's shameful that the thread went this far without mentioning him.

Shout out to Jefferson

Roosevelt

clinton

Do it again Polk!

That would be breaking his promise

If Hamilton had his way, you'd basically have an elective monarchy with a chamber of lords. Though I suppose it would've actually have a broader electorate since he didn't care as much about land-ownership as the Jeffersonions and was also an early abolitionist.

alzheimers lol

>Honest peanut farmer attempts to do good by his constituency and cut pork barrel spending
>Disgusting corrupt cartelmen in Washington laugh and stonewall all his legislation because he won't grease their wheels

Mass enfranchisement was a mistake.

Obligatory Andrew Jackson, not because "muh racism" what he did was terrible, but he also was a war hero, fought the banks and cut corruption majorly.

A good man who committed a terrible deed.

>Progressive Socialist

Albeit he saved us from going Argentina’s way.

Washington

Was a shit president, who lacked the gravitas and temperament for the office. His contemporaries thought little of him including de Tocqueville.

> fought the banks

Leading to one of the worst recessions in US history.

Being a badass doesn't count. This thread is judging by policy and execution, not personal life

>Teddy was a progressive socialist

Teddy wasn't a socialist, and by modern standards he sure as hell wasn't progressive either

Teddy's policy and execution was excellent though.

Great hair, tho.

What about Lincoln? I know it's not a hipster choice but he strikes me as quite philosophical and intellectual, had a great background story, and his expansion of federal power kinda set the tone for the next century's presidencies.

wilson did that more i think. dude laid the foundation for america to emerge as a global power, even if americans dicked around for the next three decades before acting on it.

Honestly I think Wilson is just a failed version of FDR.

Europe made us a world power in 1916 when it was already on its knees begging to be put out of it's misery. Wilson had little to do with that.
