Technically, German states unified and then picked on France. But I mean it's ok that you take pride in whatever. The French are also proud they can take on half the nation (Imperial Germany being twice as populated as France). Really I'm not surprised the Americans are mainly Germans. It's in the genes, to be proud America can take down , for instance, Irak. A victory's a victory after all :)
