Look at historic map upside down

>look at historic map upside down
>head is fucked
>things are either a lot bigger or smaller than you thought

I dont think the Kievan Rus were ever a politically united entity
But I could be wrong

WHOA

FUCK

To my knowledge, no, the cities of the Rus operated more like the ancient Greek city states.

Looks like a fantasy RPG world. Loved it. Seems comfy too.

>huge swatches of land remain unsettled
>states just floating out in an empty plain without any neighbors
>most of the states are compressed onto a long strip running along the coastline for thousands of miles
>big desert block just cuts off the central ocean in the middle

Who designed this shit?

am I the only one seeing scandinavia as a big fucking snek for the first time??

This... this one does mess with me

Completely unrealistic honestly.

Reminder that North was the South in Arab maps, that's how they saw the world.

Yes, they are.

>Big wide uninhabited desert in the north conviently bordering the Map
>Endless ocean to the east, got to have that token island nation though xDD
>the south is another wasteland border, ice this time, and full of raiders, convinently close to the sea and by the islands (woah I wonder where OP could be going with this???)
>to the west... you guessed it another border, a pseudo border this time (not sure why, its inhabitable just not settled after 1000s of years apparently) , barbarians come off the edge of the map to conquer and plunder hmm so mysterious, they sometimes bring strange aretfacts and materials that suggests an exotic far away civilization
So perhaps a possible DLC for when OP quits his day job and designs fantasy maps for 6 year olds full time?

this is fucking with me big time, it's like I can't focus my stare to see it properly

Medieval maps went all sorts of ways.

...

>tons of random islands and peninsulas just because
>that boot shaped peninsula
>le inland sea meme
Whoever designed it should be ashamed of themselves, t b h

this effect is caused by the fact that what you see and the reality are two separate things
you can teach yourself to get used to seeing things as they are though. for example some artists draw things upside down for this purpose

Oleg to Yuroslav it was a relatively stable/united state.

And denmark is fittingly its vomit.

Skåneland when?!

...

That's racist. We don't eat shit, our food just taste like itt.

I immediatly imagined Scotland as nice warm seaside retreat
