It's rooted in undereducation and reactionary thought.

The foundations of black American "negrocentricism" is in the earliest 20th century with mass migrations to the industrial north.

People fleeing the south and the lies of Reconstruction are put in ghettos where they still don't have access to an education.

You also have the Scientific Racism movement that's absolutely centered in white superiority and black inferiority. The result is people challenge the knowledge told to them.

The logic goes like this: Clearly their was a reason why we were stripped of our culture, we are universally maligned and they don't have books to tell us of our history.

Maybe our history is more than Savage Bushmen on the African coast who knew no agriculture and lived like cave men.

It's because we were so much more.

Some taking the black american attachment to the Old Testament and saw a commonality and thus began to seek the answers of their Hebrewness.

Some in the burgeoning pan-africanism challenged the idea of African inferiority by lambasting a Moorish and Egyptian past.

Later some in reaction to their supposed rootlessness and knowing only of the Americas with their own interpretation of physical variation attached to the Black Aboriginal movement.

It makes sense when you're looking from a systemic and macro scale.

When knowledge is not as free with some people they take anything fringe as arcane wisdom.

People wield obscure "facts" like weapons and jewels, that's my experience with negrocentricism at least.
