>wear a bunch of impractical marching band looking uniforms

>die gruesomely in mud
>200 years later a bunch of neets on the internet talk about how "aesthetic" it was

I really like late 19th century wars, where you'll have Napoleonic Wars formations, with infantry lines and everything and self-loading rifles with the modern concept of bullets and not cartridges. Like the Zulu Wars. It's a real shame there wasn't a major war beetwen European Nations during this period, but I guess WWI really settles it. I mean, yeah it's a pretty modern war and not as aesthetic as Napoleonic ones, but still, you have pretty nice uniforms and equipment still.
