He is generally well liked by a lot of people on this board, credible enough for some to cite him as a source without any shame.

I think his content is pretty neat.

His overwhelming focus on military history makes him the neckbeard/reddit/14-year old aspiring history nerd channel of choice, but within that metric he generally makes good, well researched stuff.

Literally top tier. He cites his source, and they're typically primary sources, his content is easy to understand, and he keeps all ideology out (I have no idea what his political beliefs are).

>military history

>Spandau
>Good

if you get time traveled to ancient world you'll be glad that you know the strategies and weapons of the era

though you'll also need to learn medical history (in case of plague)

I like him because he just presents the facts, unlike others, who turn history into "le epic trivia" show.

One of the best yt history channels out there

Probably the only watchable channel out there.

Dude makes good and very interesting content. Some find him a bit dry but I genuinely enjoy his style of presentation.

im impartial to almost yters but he always sound concise and very unbiased

If you get transported to an ancient land, everyone automatically dies. You are the plague

Definitely good, but has the usual German self-hate that was drummed into their heads at school. It usually doesn't get expressed in his videos, but he slips it in once in a while. Also, some of his evaluations are not meant to be the summation of all thought on the topic, like the one in his Panzerfaust video. Make sure you're engaging with what he's saying and he'll be beneficial.

He actually talks about this a bit: youtube.com/watch?v=0uSOPG-wprA&t=26s

Personally I don't think he's self-hating. He criticizes everyone, not just the Germans and still gives credit where it's due.

Oh, I understand that part. It's just that every once in a while he throws in something of like a "they were insane" line.

he's Austrian though

>he keeps all ideology out (I have no idea what his political beliefs are).

This was why I was sorely disappointed when he made his cold war propaganda video. For one, in terms of historical analysis, it isn’t actually, well, good. Secondly, he put in a ton if anti-socialist memes and liked comments making ‘le helicopter ride’ jokes. It was pretty cringey to see him act like a 15 year old who just found /pol/.

Link?

He posted anti-socialist memes????
I am so dissappointed, he is now childish, unprofessional and dumb unlike me who is smart, educated and a socialist.

The writing’s stiff, the weird ‘lol starvation amirite?’ jokes, it was just disappointing.

Keeping political views out of one’s historical writing isn’t a matter if ‘this person agrees with me’. It’s a matter of being a professional historian.

talks quickly in a stupendously strong and thick aristocratic bosch accent

>His overwhelming focus on military history makes him the neckbeard/reddit/14-year old aspiring history nerd channel of choice

Fuck off John Green

It provided plenty of interesting information, the memes were funny too

He's great, but it takes some time to get used to his ultra-thick accent.

oy vey when are we gonna shut this anti-semite down?

Not bad, but aims to hard to get the teen-gamer audience, can't blame him though, no one else is gonna give him the views.

>aims to hard to get the teen-gamer audience
Explain. Never got that vibe from him.

Stop posting that picture, will ya?

Has he ever been wrong though? Hmmmmmmmmmmm
