Mao Zedong

Mao Zedong is literally the worst human being in all of mankind's history, just a daily reminder.

...

why

what was their problem?

The cultural revolution saw the destruction of nearly all ancient chinese artifacs, not to mention that Mao has the biggest body count in history under his name, and all this was doneto his own people.

...

...

...

According to liberal logic, it is better if done to your own people.

pic related is the remains of the Ming dynasty emperor Wanli, his remains along with all the other chinese emperors's remains were dug up and destroyed.

sic semper tyrannis

I wonder how many Chinese QTs he killed?

Pic related is what's left of the cemetary of Confucius, most of it was destroyed by the Chinese red guards during the revolution, luckily some of it survived.

Oops forgot pic.

also PragerU logic

Only if you include the famine. Cultural revolution killed some 500.000-3.000.000 people, but the lower number is more likely. That's below Stalin's purges.

Lol no, pre great leap foreward china was literally the best period of chinese history for 200 yeaes preceeding it. Mao finally tore china out of traditionalist nonsense and set it on the road to modernizatiin.

The great leap foreward was obviously a colossal fail but you cant pin all the blame on mao, over enthusiatic commune managers competing with one another and lieing to the central government and the ridiculous fanaticism of the peoples dedication to the backyard steel program were huge factors. Consider that maos intent was not to kill millions like stalin or hitler, and when you screw u in china the bodycount is obviously going to be higher than other places. Significantly disaterous acts of incompitence are difficult to distinguish from malice.

The cultural revolution was really the main act of pointless evil he embarked on, though comparing the bodycount to the total population it really wasnt that bad.

Oh yeah and he took a country reaked by decades of civil war and steeped in traditionalism and turned it into a modern state capable of taking on the usa (korean war) and building nuclear weapons. Which human rights respecting goody two shoes wester capitalist leaders can claim similar feats?

This, under Cixi the Qing tried to modernize while simultaneously maintaining tradition, and it was an utter failure. The simple truth is that a modern industrial state brings with it so many socioeconomic and political upheavals that trying to maintain preindustrial institutions is a self-sabotaging endeavor.

>executes anybody who dares to express a dissenting opinion in the hundred flowers bloom campaign
>wonders why nobody dares to express a dissenting opinion and everybody fudges their reports in the Great Leap Forward

The UK managed it fairly well. The House of Lords and the Church of England are still intertwined, for example.

>Mao finally tore china out of traditionalist nonsense
Mao was one of biggest "traditionalists"(the worst kind) in his time, every fucking dirty tricks he used to deal with his enemies were learnt from Chinese history and traditional Chinese classical books, "Legalism"(法家) is his favorite philosophy other than Communism; "The Art of War(孫子兵法)" is his favorite military instruction, because they taught him how to defeat his enemies, how to launch power struggles, and how to climb to the throne upon people's dead bodies. He just didn't like other people know what he knows, because someone might be overthrew him by his onw methods.

Other than that, I agree Mao is not the worst human being of all time, there are many Gweilos worse than him such as Marx, Hitler and Obama.

both powerless for a reason

Mao was not a bad person in the overall scheme of things. He sat the foundation for modern China.

People like Mao,stalin and Hitler are demonized for political reasons and thus appear worse then they actually are compared to really bad charaters in history like Timurlane and Genghis Khan.

ITT CIDF in full damage control mode

Just a daily reminder that everything you have been taught about Chairman Mao, leader and liberator of China is just anti-communist lies spread by George Soros, a so called expert against communism.

>muh history is black and white

Mao bares the responsibility for his poor decision making that led to the deaths of millions due to famine. But that was not his goal. To label him a terrible human being or evil is a mistake. The only people who are truly evil are those where evil is their goal.

He did many good things such as freeing the peasants from the yoke of the corrupt land barons who would kill peasants for looking at them funny.

In order to understand what Mao did you have to look at it from the perspective of what it was like to live as a peasant in China before Mao.
