Yes.

Probably an army that doesn't need to fake or directly invent battles as the first one of your pic

S*ede poster are even worse tan t*rks. At least the roaches had an Empire.

>S*ede

/thread

>Siege of Fellin
>the Swedish garrison capitulated, although a group of Finnish soldiers refused to surrender and blew themselves up in the castle's tower.

It's a wonder swedes ever managed to do something without finns

This was before based Gustav Adolf the Great became king

>This confuses and angers the Swede.

Pretty much.
Swedes didn't deserve based Gustav.

You could just go to /int/ if you want to do nationalist shitposting.

Yes, the Dutch army under Maurice of Orange-Nassau.

Y'know, the guy who taught Gustavus Adolphus everything that Swede knew when it came to military tactics.

It only confuses me because i don't know what you're refering to, another meaningless skirmish?

Historical shitposting belongs on /int/

*Veeky Forums

That depends, does stopping Swedish advance on Austria and killing 8-10k soldiers counts as "meaningless skirmish"?

>Swedes didn't deserve based Gustav.
Not true, he would be nothing without his people

[source needed]

Is department of military history enough?

Whats going on in this thre....
Herregud

>1645
That just happens to coincide when the swedish forces were focused on taking down the danes

Mate, you're 100 years tooearly

>Gustav II Adolf †

Yet, they still managed to muster 28k men and Transylvanians to siege the city.

Mercenaries and allies under Swedish leadership, maybe, the large majority of the actual Swedish forces were busy fighting the Danes

*blocks your path*

all of swedens victories was due to luck, criminal incompetence of the opponents

their kings were irresponsible adventurers who risked the faith of sweden for their own personal glory

Transylvanians counted 7k, amount of mercs would be same proportion as any Swedish army at the time.

>the large majority of the actual Swedish forces were busy fighting the Danes
Why do you assume that? Even gen. Torstenson was sent to Bohemia.

>Why do you assume that?
German and Scottish mercs and allies are obviously more motivated fighting against Catholics than they are fighting against fellow Protestant Danes, the feud against Denmark was the Swedes feud
>Even gen. Torstenson was sent to Bohemia.
The war against Denmark was literally named after him...

>German and Scottish mercs
Mercs fight for money, rest is just speculation that is not based upon evidence.

>The war against Denmark was literally named after him...
That's why I mentioned him, he led the Swedish armies at Jankov and Brno.

portrait of a s*ede

Sweden even don't have few colonies in undeveloped Africa. I don't respect Sweden

but modern Swede is half-black and half-semit

>implying the the portrait is not from 17th century

Not true

The Dutch never won any major battle against the Spanish in 80 fucking years. Claiming that they had the best army in Europe is laughable

>Bully a bunch of German fighters
>Win
>Claim you are the shit
>Face the Spanish army
>Get BTFO socbad that France has to enter the war inmediatly before your collapse

While they indeed won many battles against the imperial forces, they got bumfucked against the spaniards, see Nordlingen 1634

Really mods?

The mods are innocent. I'm the guy who posted that and I deleted it.
This is a blue board

But it only slightly looks like a penis

the Dutch Navy in 17th century

>still won the war
Hmmm

>Army
>Navy

I know
I just thought I'd mention how good they were in the Anglo Dutch wars

Sure, seeing as Sweden lost the Great Northern War.

It's not easy to win 1v10 but they did come pretty close

>It's not easy to win 1v10 but they did come pretty close
Maybe they shouldn't start the war, when they are outnumbered 1 to 10. Maybe they shouldn't cripple potential allies. And in what way it was close.

>Maybe they shouldn't start the war
They didn't start it
>Maybe they shouldn't cripple potential allies
The terrible swedish diplomacy was actually the reason they lost the war
>And in what way it was close.
Is that a question? Have you read about the conflict? The swedes were really fucking close to victory for a while

even Denmark-Norway had more shit than you, some pathetic excuse for an empire you are.

>t. brainlet
Greenland is a huge fucking wasteland, it's only worth is that it makes them look big

thinking Greenland fucking matters when you have colonies in the carribean, in India and Africa, plus svalbard and iceland......

See Sweden had a couple of colonies too but the european possessions matters more than a couple of tiny colonies anyway and it's pretty clear who was the best of the two in that regard

Pretty sure just about any of today's militaries would beat Sweden in the 1700s.
