Considering that the people of modern Lazio (AKA Latium) are both geographically and genetically closer to the south than north, yeah, probably. They look swarthy on average. Further adding to this is that Rome integrated southern Italy first, and didn't conquer what we now call northern Italy until relatively later (after famous events like the Second Punic War). But this autism about phenotypes needs to end. Olive skinned, brown/black haired, brown eyed, average height people with large noses and curly hair exist in overwhelming numbers all over the Italian peninsula, they're just rarer in the North than in the center or the south. Just like how pale, light haired, light eyed, tall people with small noses and straight hair exist everywhere, but are rarer in the south.

I don't know why Veeky Forums can't understand this, I've seen actual brothers and sisters with noticeably different colorations in skin, hair, and eyes (but similar enough facial features to tell that they're siblings).

Genetics test have proven no significant genetic difference between the regions of Italy except Sicily (which is about a third Greek) and the northeast and mountainous regions (which are about a quarter Germanic).
