Has any faggot country enjoyed the same margin of naval superiority over the rest of the world as the US does today? Not even the RN of the 19th Century did
Has any faggot country enjoyed the same margin of naval superiority over the rest of the world as the US does today...
No
The Romans did over the known world of their time, fag.
Portuguese
Dutch
Spanish
English
Chinese
None of those navies could solo all other contemporary navies combined.
Aircraft carriers too OP.
The United Kingdom, the Dutch and the Spanish, off the top of my head.
When; for the Chinese?
In their day, they most certainly f*cking well could!
The US navy is not that good, although it could outsupply any other country because Jews control all the resources, its a lot different from, say, the Arab empire in the middle ages which dominated the Mediterranean and the source of all world sea trade at the time. The us could do similar things but only with heavy losses and great difficulty.
It's only relatively recently that the concept of a truly global navy has come to fruition. Before the 20th century, warships simply didn't have the speed or endurance to operate so far away from home bases.
If by RN, you mean Russia, the Russian navy has always been shit, to one degree or another, and could you please stop imposing your over-inflated sense of patriotism on everyone?
The Ming Dynasty had an absolutely enormous fleet in the 1400's.
Unfortunately, it was essentially the vanity project of one emperor, and his successors abandoned it.
RN almost always refers to the British Royal Navy. Also Registered Nurses.
In that case, Britain, Spain and the Dutch were all superior to america in the 19th century. Today, that's a different story.
>the Russian navy has always been shit
The Russian navy is weird because it is always split between the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea, and the Pacific ocean. Because of this, they've never really been able to have a real "fleet" but rather a collection of smaller fleets which are localized to a specific area.
This is why I com to his, to learn, not listen to some random 'murican's over-inflated ego.
>the Arab empire in the middle ages which dominated the Mediterranean and the source of all world sea trade at the time.
cept the Greeks and Italians who routinely wrecked the Arab's shit and had their own trade routs.
With almost permanent logistic and morale problems, e.g. the 'Potemkin'.
Not until much later.
>hurr durr the country I happen to have spawned in is the greatest warmonger in history.
Great job, OP! Keep being successful.
Only at the beginning of it though, by the late only the Brits were superior, see the Spanish American War.
>The Ming Dynasty had an absolutely enormous fleet in the 1400's.
Not just the Ming Dynasty really.
The Chinese pretty much had mastery of East Asian/SEAsian seas up until the Qing Dynasty. Largely because they were surrounded by either inept seamen (Japs), Isolationists (Koreans), and canoe-paddling primitive nignogs (Malays, Filipinos)
Funnily enough, Vietnam was an underrated sea power in SEAsia, haveing defeated China in some naval battles in the past. It could argued to be the second naval power in the region, more so than meme Koreans with their meme Turtle ships.
Chinese mastery of the surrounding seas ended with the Qing's dissolution of the navy and the weighing in of Europeans in the region come the 1700s.
