dumbbells better for hypertrophy, barbells for strength. imo use barbells as the main lift and dumbbells as an assistance lift afterwards.

Not quite accurate but yeah, good philosophy generally to do barbell first then DB for assistance. You will get growth from barbell work though, or T-rex mode on SS wouldn't be a thing
