Started cutting down from skinnyfat mode about one month ago doing cardio and weightlifting , down roughly 10 lbs so far. Will probably start eating at a surplus soon tho.

As put it, you do look dyel, so listen up if you wanna make it:

1. Do NOT under any circumstances bump up the calories from one day to the next. Gradually increase the number into a 300-500kcal surplus. Otherwise you'll gain unwanted weight.

2. Consistency is key. Don't bother too much about what routine to choose, just make sure you stick to it and measure your progress. SS/SL is great for this. (Starting Strength or StrongLifts, that is, in case you're a complete summerfag).

3. Form >>>> Weight. PERIOD. You fuck up with form in order to move more weight, you'll break something. If you're struggling just do a small deload and up the volume to *near* failure.

Just remember that some meathead out there can find the time to go to the gym ~4hrs/week to get buff, so chances are you can do it as well. Lifting requires minimal effort and genuine consistency. So better keep at it if you started, champ.

coming from someone who was significantly more skinnyfat than you, start doing ab workouts on rest days if you're trying to look even the least bit aesthetic. i had the same violin body shape until i started ab workouts, deadlifts and squats are not enough.

Actually i've never done SS/SL, I've always either done a PPL/Upper Lower w/3x5 linear progression on compounds until they stalled, then done a 531 variant.

Also I have manlet leverages so the DL isn't so noteworthy.
