decentralized oracles that put data on the decentralized ethereum platform.

which absolutely does not mean the deluded linkies will get anywhere close to their faget lambos

Connects blockchains to external data sources like payment providers, weather and stock data, etc. People use ChainLink to build APIs essentially that plug into smart contracts. Right now smart contracts are isolated to the blockchainā€”Chainlink opens up the blockchain to the real world and with it a ton of new applications for established institutions (i.e. SWIFT) who don't want to overhaul their backends just to work with blockchain tech

>decentralized oracles that put data on various blockchains of choice

ftfy

According to the Gartner report it solves the neet lambo shortage

It makes Ethereum actually useful

The commandment complication

Non-meme answer:

First of all, you need "middleware" to translate external data to the blockchain.
This middleware is "oracles".

The "oracle problem" is one of trust.
Either oracles are EXTREMELY trustworthy, or they are not trustworthy at all.
There is no middle ground.

And the only way to have inherent oracle reliability, is to decentralize them.
This means two things:
1) more sources = more reliability
2) no single central point of failure that needs to be trusted

Chainlink is the first and only decentralized oracle solution.

omg is fucked, true. their stickers and selfies don't work anymore.

also what reasoning do linkies have with their weird fascination with resorting to other projects?

no github activity on link
> well duh ANS didn't have any either

you really think it's gonna go up to $50+ ?
> well duh look at eth

you really think banks will adopt a two dev slav team?
> well duh look at omg

It lets you take external data from the real world and use it to do payouts and other activities on blockchain.

One example: you could do betting on events now. When the oracles register that person X lost an event, those who registered on a betting site that makes use of Chainlink's oracles will automatically have their bets transacted.

Or Chainlink can do what Walton does, an Oracle tracks when plane X with cargo Y arrives at airport Z using flight data. When the plane arrives, the blockchain can understand tht and use that as part of a smart contract.

Smart contracts are juust ways of making things happen. Chainlink "makes things happen" by incorporating real world data so that anything can "happen" and have a smart contract on a blockchain react to it.

couldn't ETH and other smart contract platforms do this on their own without needing another coin to get involved?

No.
You need a separate decentralized network.
The nodes in the Chanlink network do very different things compared to blockchain nodes.
It would not make much sense to combine these functionalities.
It would be like the road construction company making cars.

Why don't you do some research faggot. Does mommy have to dress you when you get up too?

wraith or rape protocol or something.

so what happens when sergay, suddenly leaves and joins ibm?

He can do both. There are plenty of people working on crypto who also have busy full time jobs.

also I dont think he owns any patents, since you cant patent papers yet

user hes gonna get sued

The >no gf problem

is the Final Solution to the (((Oracle))) problem.

>also what reasoning do linkies have with their weird fascination with resorting to other projects?

because looking at marketcaps only makes sense in relation to other (similar) projects?
how is comparing projects a bad thing in trading you fucking brainlet?
