So do people actually do warmup sets or is it just a meme like stretching? I do 2 sets of 100kg deadlifts to work on my grip before I do my main set with straps. Apart from that never warmup. Is that cool?

If you don't need to warm up for your working sets than the weight you use is still low. Try a decent program and you will find out you need stretches (shoulders and hips) in addition to warming up with the bar/1pl8 up to higher weights.
