Riveting tale rabbi

This is the tastiest bait I've seen in a while.

london should probably be on there

Please post your own list below

>The point of autism focused upon by 3 religions, 2 of them being the world's major ones..
Yeah, it fucking qualifies.

>no london

Beijing can fuck off, it is the youngest of China's capitals.

In terms of important events which occurred there?
>Rome
>Athens
>Babylon
>Baghdad
>London
>Paris
>Berlin
>Constantinople/Istanbul
>Moscow
>St. Petersburg/Leningrad
>Jerusalem
>Mecca
>New York City
>Persepolis

What am I missing Veeky Forums?

London and NYC should be included

>my glorified desert village is super duper important
Get lost, Schlomo.

I can't be assed to do 25, but any good list includes

>Ur
>Babylon
>Mecca
>Medina
>Rome
>Beijing
>Shanghai
>London
>Paris
>Athens

And some others I'm forgetting.

>What am I missing Veeky Forums?
10 names...

Yeah, London was the center of the world from the time of the industrial age until the rise of the United States, and it's still a financial capital 2nd only to NYC.

>>Rome
>>Athens
lol

>Mecca

This is good.

Covers most of the world's important regions.

Why is Kyoto so important?

>0 instances of Los Angeles mentioned

Ah, I see we're being aggressively contrarian today.

>Shanghai

Why the actual fuck?

>LA

Eh, I'd be more inclined to say San Francisco, but culturally, LA is (unfortunately) more important.

It's a young city, and nobody wants do New York, DC, and Los Angeles.

Because Japan is an important regional and eventually global initiator of historical events and Kyoto as the Old Capital is much more relevant than the ~250 years of Edo/Tokyo even if global events happened during the rule of the latter.

I would actually include Tokyo as well. And San Francisco along with New York City for the USA.

>no Florence or Vienna
>no London
Am I being deceived

Name one major historical event that occurred in Los Angeles.

>No Amsterdam

In no particular order.
London
Paris
New York City
Rome
Athens

Delhi
Jerusalem
Babylon
Ur
Antioch
Carthage
Shanghai
Cadiz
Amsterdam
Baghdad
Constantinople
Mecca (Begrudgingly)

Tyre

>Istanbul

I love how the Byzaboo meme has gotten so out of control people are now using this ridiculous bullshit term.
Its Constantinople or Konstantiniyye. 'To the City' is not a name.

Not the poster, but imo it's the fact that US culture dominates the world today, and most of the tv shows, movies, music and much of the fashion that unfortunately defines that culture comes from LA.

>The first 10 of that list
Literally who?

>No Washington D.C. or NYC

bitch please no Teotihuacán who conquered the Maya

The lack of Ctesiphon this thread is disturbing

>read the first city on the list
>some japanese city that didn't exist for most of written history
>close thread

I thought about including it, but I don't know how important it really was. It wasn't the homeland of either empire, and losing it several times didn't seem to be that big of deal to them, so.

Read a map.

>Heian-kyo
nigga just write Kyoto

yeah dude just call it Tenochtitlan, not Mexico city lol, that's some Castillian meme

Only 100 years ago LA was just a bunch of orange groves.

>No one mentions Seville, the birth place of Trajan,Hadrian, the intelectual capital of visigothic Spain, the most important muslim city in the west for 4 centuries and the economic center of Europe for 2 whole centuries
Why is Veeky Forums so full of brainlets?

This.
>LA is one of the most important historical cities just because they've been exporting their crappy lowbrow culture to the world for mere 60 years
You have to be a total retard to actually believe this.

Ctesiphon should be included in that list.

It was the most populated city in Western Asia and Europe if not one of the most populated and largest ones, for like almost two centuries between the 5th and 7th centuries.
>homeland
When is a city a homeland of anything?
>losing it several times
Literally 99% of the times its been captured, sacked, or plundered happened under the Parthians. Besides I don't see how its a strike against a civilization or state that they can keep on trucking even if their most important city keeps getting hit, more of an impressive trait in fact then a negative one.

Avaris, Knossos

Gud taste

>Because Japan is an important regional and eventually global initiator of historical events

Lel, Japan could have been wiped out from earth by a megaquake in the 5000b.c and it would have had literally 0 impact in development of world history as we know it.

If you're going to add Delhi then you should also add Pataliputra or Vijayanagara.

Pataliputra was the cultural centre of Buddhism for nearly two thousand years and Vijayanagara was in the top ten world's largest cities from the 14th-16th centuries, it attracted a lot of foreign visitors who wrote a lot about how wealthy and spectacular it was desu.

I'd argue that Japan was more important to world history than China, most of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and India in the past few centuries.

You're fucking retarded. The only years that would be true for would be the the early 20s to the early 40s, and in that it's still dubious

Because they're stupid and think that modern Shanghai (a soulless business & immigrant hub) in its memery expounded by 'financial media' must be founded on the antecedent culture of some great city

>You're fucking retarded.
Nice argument dipshit. The cultural and intellectual elites held Japan in higher regard then all of the ones I listed.

Did you forget that they single-handedly demolished Russia, a massive player back then? Sure they were pretty meme tier for lot of history but they really pulled through in the past few centuries.

The fact that it is glorified makes it important from a historical perspective.

cheeky

t. Never been to Jerusalem

>no Zurich

>You're fucking retarded. The only years that would be true for would be the the early 20s to the early 40s, and in that it's still dubious

Yeah, not even then. Japan only shows up as the secondary character that gets a few forgetable seconds of screen time in the movie "World History" by messing up with China in those years, but the thing is China was already fuck up from the inside with the infighting between communists and the kuomintang, a fight that didn't resolve until 1949 long after the japs were gone. The japanese invasions were irrelevant to the outcome and only added up to the number of casualties.

Japan was like the atrezzo guy passing by. And other than those few seconds Japan doesn't even show up anymore in the movie.

>Heian-kyo is Chinese

Where's Jersey City?

these ones

Die maggot

No

As an American I'm kind of embarrassed by the very obvious American-centrist thinking itt

Jerusalem should be on no one's list, it is not geographically relevant nor has it held a massive populace. It hasn't been a center of philosophy or technological advancement, nor was it ever a capital or even a major city of any empire. It isn't even the birthplace of Christianity, technically that would be Bethlehem., nor is it the birthplace of Islam.

Jerusalem is plenty important. Entire Crusades and shit were fought over it.

You mean Byzantium

Paris, Rome, Moskow, Wasington, New York, London, Antwerp, Venice, Constantinople, Los Angeles, Athens, Vienna, Florence, St.Petersburg.

That's it.

Why no one mentions the best? feed too much roman propaganda?

Carthage can go suck a cock. We have no space for loser empires here
