What if the Zimmerman telegram was not intercepted?

What if the Zimmerman telegram was not intercepted?

WW1 would last slightly longer, perhaps into 1919 but probably not. Germany's situation by that point was hopeless.

an invasion of a neutral power would occur by a german vassal state

1. Mexico would have refused.
2. War drags into a stalemate.

Pretty much this. The USA's participation in WWI didn't alter the conflict's course, it just hastened an already inevitable conclusion.

More interesting might be what the interwar period would have looked like had WWI been significantly protracted. The conditions of the Treaty of Versailles may have been radically different, and it would have been impossible for the nascent Nazi Party to propagate the Stab in the Back theory if the German army had been decisively crushed on the field. The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk being nullified later (or not at all) would have had dramatic effect on the Soviet Union as well, potentially changing the outcome of the Russian Civil War or Ukrainian insurrections.

It wouldn't have been possible. The telegram was created by US intelligence, it would have never existed if it weren't "intercepted".

How would have refused if Germany said the would Give Mexico support on it?

Mexican here

You think the autistic spite we get now is bad? Imagine we also had the "TRAITORS OF THE SOUTH" tag like everything south of D.C. does.

Wrong

Germany & AH had annexed half of eastern Europe (on paper)

If the US never entered, they would have been able to sign a peace that didn't cut Germany down to size

Why would the U.S have sent a telegram to Mexico saying that they could take their own territory any time they want and they would give support for it?

Because they could then arrange for the British to "intercept" it, "reveal" it, frame Germany, and have an excuse to enter the war. This was in the interest of both the British and the US governments. The US public wasn't fully convinced about joining the war so some work had to be done and this was one step.

is this some kinda fancy rhetoric or are you just legitimately that stupid?

This
>sending supa sekrit telegrams over British lines
>not expecting them to be intercepted

Trayvon would have a degree from Florida Memorial University today

He dindu nuffin

Because they still would have been completely BTFO by the United States.

Russia was in the throes of revolution and Germany was winning on the Western Front. The United States had loaned tons of money and materiel to the Allies, which would have been lost if Germany won. So naturally they manufactured a casus belli to intervene.

I don't want to go into conspiracy land like you and user over here.

Thats what I was thinking too.

>being this retarded

you realize that Zimmerman publicly admitted the existence of the telegram after it was intercepted, right?

Casus belli will always find a way when the powers that be want it to happen. There is a lot of money involved in making wars happen.

cant flim flam the zim zam

>ITS A CONSPIRACY MAN!!!

Memories.
