If you have a story on taking a trip to snap city, please share.
Mine >doing squats a few months back >lmao2.5plate >finish my set and then try to rack my weight >take step backwards >my knee tenses and I fall down, luckily the safety bars that run parallel to the floor catch the weights >tore my miniscus >surgery >will take 4-6 months apparently before I can even think about bending my knee with weights apparently
Not sure if this counts >lifting heavy weights nekkid (homegym mustard raise) >finish ohp PR >notice small bulge above my groin >turn to boyfriends >ask for inspection >one says it is probably a hernia >go to doctor, and it is deffo an inguinal herna, but it directly poking out and not fucking with my testicles (thank god, appparently people have lost a nut to these things) Just gotta push yourself harder.. R-right bro?
Angel Harris
>be increasing squats like a champ >slowly stop focusing on form and want more weight >begin to bend knees in when squatting; knees over toes >can't bend knees without hurting now, even without weight >hurts going down the staires I've got a knees state of an 80 year old
Elijah Gonzalez
>Form slips on a single deadlift rep during a warmup set of 3 plate >Back hurts for 2 months
I don't deadlift anymore.
Jace Williams
>first time lifting in 2 weeks >aiming for 120kgx5 >warm up with the bar , 60kg and then 100kg >on my second rep of 100kg, sharp pain in upper back/left shoulder >drive home like a faggot >cant walk for shit nor stand up at all >go to hospital >strained Rhomboid >aint done shit since, DOMS killing me
Chase Morales
squats btw
Austin Ward
Fuck man, I'm afraid of this Even pro bodybuilder and weightlifters slip up and require surgeries, and aren't 100% afterwards I hope my knees don't end up like yours bro
Alexander Johnson
I dislocated my shoulder overhead pressing just the bar once.
Julian Perez
Deadlifts
enough said
Eli Cooper
Deathlifts Not even once Captcha: select all people who died doing deadlifts
Gabriel Brooks
>finish benching session >get up and take a few steps >suddenly right leg just randomly gives out >incredible, nauseating pain in my lower back >can barely stand up straight >getting in and out of car is painful as fuck >even running over a bump is enough to make me wince >a few times I break into tears because I can't even get up out of bed and have to do this weird, sliding movement off the mattress
I managed to recover in just over a month, never saw a doctor because I couldn't afford it. Still don't know what the fuck happened, but I'm pretty sure it was due to shit form.
Hunter Fisher
How the fuck do you faggots tear shit at such babbyweights i dont fucking get it
Andrew Morales
shit diets lacking in nutrients
Carter Phillips
>lmao2.5plate >3 plate >100kg
WHY IS Veeky Forums SO DYEL
Cameron Harris
I wrist curled 5 lbs for 3 reps and all the muscles on the underside of my forearm tore
I deadlifted 1 plate and herniated a disk
William Harris
Stop posting here and it'll be one less DYEL faggot.
Angel Martinez
Its summer my dude
Grayson Cruz
>tfw squatting 5pl8 and still havent had a single injury
Its like some people are just more injury prone or fragile
Dominic Turner
shit like this just terrifies me, are deathlifts even worth the risk ?
Ryder Gutierrez
anyone know feel?
Dominic Peterson
quit being a bitch
Jonathan Phillips
>first time at the gym >walk in sporting my sandals and jean shorts >put my body weight on the bar because that's what Veeky Forums told me I should be able to squat on day one >herniate several discs in my back >go to hospital Th-thanks Veeky Forums
Chase Lopez
>3pl8 warmup >dyel
Brandon Phillips
not skipping squats and deadlifts
Blake Gray
sick copy pasta
Ian Moore
>post on Veeky Forums 6 hours a day or more for six years for index finger gains >mouse use slowly starts to degrade my hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders >In constant pain now >even bodyweight pushups will harm my wrists
Robert Nguyen
>fall asleep on couch >wake up in the middle of the night and decide to go crawl in bed >bash the fuck out of my knee on the coffee table >hobble to bed >wake up the next morning, huge welt on my knee cap >excuse me, I have a workout to continue >go to gym and load up 1 pl8 for a warmup set >go ATG on first rep >knee pops, quite painful >can't stand back up >shamefully leave gym and hobble around for a week
It healed up just fine, but I was out of commission there for a while. Probably should have gotten an x-ray, but fuck it.
Samuel Moore
Jesus Fucking Christ. What the hell happened?
Aiden Ross
Are you a 12 year old girl? I can't imagine any other way.
Alexander Cruz
>be in shower >start busting out mad calf raises with hot water >cannot walk next day
Chase Johnson
HS friend who got me into lifting >Attempted squat >Failed squat, collapsed under weight >Herniated disc and sciatic pain for months >Talked about how awful it was to do mundane things like put on socks >Continued lifting cautiously >Eventually healed up, lifts went higher and higher >Started roiding and competes in powerlifting now
As for me >Deadlifting in HS >Trying to figure out the difference between belt and beltless >Belted submax pull, feel and hear three pops in my back, low back is sore and painful Didn't affect me too much besides spooking me from DLing heavy for a while
Jace Turner
Same thing happened to me too user, ripped my bicep tendon. Shit sucks but atleast I can still do cardio. Just don't turn into a fat fuck, that shit happens to almost anyone who injures their leg.
Luis Ward
What the fuck were you thinking user?
Ryan Jackson
>OHP >sideways on to a mirror >top of rep >look right to see reflection >sharp pain in left side of neck down shoulder into upper back >drop weight >fear I killed or paralysed myself
luckily I healed up with a few days but it was terrifying to say the least
HEAD FORWARD EYES FORWARD BACK STRAIGHT
Chase Ward
never look in the mirror when doing something
Carter Barnes
This, it diminishes your concentration and gives you a greater risk of fucking up
Aaron Thompson
>start ss as a skele >2 weeks in and can squat lmao1pl8 >go to gym with gf and showing off a bit >see grill doing back extensions with a plate >>I can do that >hyperextend to the fucking shithouse >snap >nearly bedridden for a week >stop liftan >gf dumps me because i become a NEET god >drs confirms 3 slipped discs lmao >2 years later i am lifting again, got a job and moved into management >turns out i can lift ok and im not a NEET, just autistic and mildly psychotic
there you go kids, snap city is just a stop on your route to autismville
Aiden Davis
>get drunk with friends in my house >''hey guys lets go and train''(I have home gym) >decide to do deadlifts >''fuck warmup I've been doing this for a year'' >put 3 plates and just start repping >on 4th rep I hear a loud snap, instantly drop bar, back is fucking locked in a bent position >turns out I partly tore Quadratus lumborum >couldnt deadlift for 4months >took 6more months to deadlift 3plates.
Fuck ego lifting from now on
Tyler Mitchell
that's the most stupid thing I've read today, well done user
Henry Foster
>finish workout >go on Veeky Forums to shitpost >still have energy and want to lift more >go back to homegym (C) >put 5 more lbs on the bar >OHP >stabbing pain in muscle above left clavicle
Pls.
Easton Hernandez
I fucking slipped disc hyperextending my back on OHP and I couldn't fucking make my back perpendicular to the ground without almost blacking out from the pain.
Do you feel like your spine is tight and needs to be stretched out? What was your treatment, familia?
Anthony Thompson
sounds like weak abs mate
Michael Thompson
As long as someone learns from my mistake
Colton Sullivan
had same thing when doing skullcrushers and tilted head sideways, holy shit that did hurt
Jayden Cook
How much do I need to squat and activate my abs until I'm safe
Aaron Diaz
cant even understand your question
Jaxon King
>stepping backwards to rack weight Why would you ever do this
Adrian Johnson
Not really no. They're an ego lift. You can safely get everything done without risking your spine. But nothing will feel quite as good as a deadlift
Jose Walker
Same here i had no idea i can injure my rhomboids squatting
Gavin Fisher
Pro bodybuilders and weightlifters intentionally push themselves beyond the safe limits of training. There are a lot of bodybuilders who advocate for safe training that are still big, strong and healthy in their 60s and maybe even 70s.
Oliver Peterson
My role model and stepfather, Elliott "I Married For Personality" Hulse, remarks intelligently on his YouTube Channel "elliottsaidwhat" that if you "activate" (see: flex, extend forward fully) your abdominal muscles during a squat you can grow the muscle sufficiently. My aquantinces on bodybuilding.com/misc/ also agree that squat movements coupled with heavy weight are enough to stimulate the abs to become stronger. Are these fine people correct or have I been fooled?
What the fuck do I do to get stronger abs? I can already flex my stomach out 9 inches.
Daniel Richardson
>people are still falling for the "ohp is the best" meme
Probably one of the most dangerous lifts and with no reason to do it.
Logan Lopez
just do ab exercises basically. Also dont neglect deep core muscles, like transversus abdominis which are most important for stability and lifts like squat and deadlifts. Just google exercises and do them. Also ALWAYS tense your core when doing heavy compounds
No access to decent lighting atm. It just looks like a regular bear gut extended and goes in past the rib cage a good 1.5".
He lifts pretty strong for someone 60 y/o not on gear. And his book is technical as fuck.
Dylan Wood
Autist here. No treatment, I'm on a waiting list and I think I will be for eternity. I just put up with it for the most part, only gets bad when I sit or stand for too long. Mine gets aggravated by OHPs I've found, other lifts are fine. A little discomfort benching as I have to slightly hyperextend for proper form.
What's helped my OHP is making sure I cue tight glutes followed by abs, near impossible to hyperextend with them both engaged.
Jackson Robinson
I'll have to try it out.
What kind of doc are you going to? I went to see a physio (got an appointment in a month) and he said if you're not getting nerve pain there's not too much they can do or will do.
