Has anyone here ever quit coffee?

Has anyone here ever quit coffee?

This shit is starting to cause me more harm than good.

I have. It always made me dehydrated to the point of not being able to function. I'm much better off without it.

Yeah, for about 4 months. I just ended up eating in the morning instead. It's expensive to buy everyday and makes me jittery, thinking about stopping again.

It also gave me the runs. Not all the time, but sometimes, at random.

Switched to green tea master race. I brew a big ass high test mug with two bags and honey and do that 3-4 times throughout the day.

strong black tea is a good start instead user

>assam

kek, oddly enough I drank two cups today and will probably have another. tea has always responded better to me.

may as well take caffeine pills

I can stop anytime I want.
I just don't feel like it yet

you're gonna have some serious headaches for a few days if you quit cold turkey

>honey

not making it

I only drink like a cup a day. Still makes me twitch the fuck out though.

Also drinking tea in its place.

>assam
the best there is

What harm is it doing just wondering? I usually drink 4-5 cups a week, I assume this is not an issue?

>What harm is it doing just wondering?

I feel sick after I drink it, my head spins, can't focus worth a shit or do anything productive. Flip the fuck out due to stress, so on.

Tea doesn't do this to me at all. Going to go a half month or month without drinking any and see if I notice any differences in anxiety and whatnot.

Not always. Sometimes the withdrawal is hardly noticeable.

I've gone off coffee for months at a time, and I love coffee. Wasn't hard for me.

yeah not very hard at all

I've quit all caffeine on rest/cardio days and pop 600mg of caffeine for my pre-workout stack

> It's expensive to buy everyday

r u fuckin serious? were you buying a fucking $5 sugar milk from starbucks everyday instead of grinding your own fresh coffee every morning for a fraction of the price? good fuckin goi kid

Even a cup a day will fuck you up when you stop, but it's definitely worth it though, you're reaction times on coffee are about the same as a non-coffee drinker, but they plummet if you miss a cup for the day.

>you're

It's 2:40 here in bongland please no bully

Willing to push through, can't deal with the anxiety any longer.

i only drink two small cups worth in the morning. i just drink it to shit.

I quit coffee by switching to pu-erh tea (long run fermented tea). comes in this weird pressed wheel from china. you need to break off bits and do rapid brew.

>used to be crazy addicted
>could not stop, coffee had a gun to my head

>I just switched to the tea
>has less caffien naturally
>the fermentation process degrades more of the caffeine
>the way you should brew involves tossing the first brew (gets rid of even more caffiene
>so I went from literally 10 cups coffee per day + half n half cuz you gotta have that shit, to 1-2 cups of non critical tea daily

In the past 12 years I've not gone a single day without a coffee, which is impressive given how much I travel. I've thought of quitting but don't think I can :(

I never drank coffee but i quit all soft drinks except for special occasion. It's not hard once you got a plan and stick to it. The key is having a plan

anyone else here drink matcha? It's got a kick to it but at the same time it feels more mellow than coffee

Soft drinks are shit all around, good on you m8.

Tea is how I limited mine, too. I was also up to about 1000mg a day. I just have several cups of green or oolong tea a day now.

Coffee GOAT. I already cut out pot, you're not gonna take the black gold from me goyim.

>drinking jew juice
>calling anyone goyim

top shabbos

How does it compare?

i did just this past week. it's the hardest addiction to quit. the withdrawls are awful and unlike other addictions it's harder to tell yourself that you're doing the right thing.

I get anxiety from it, not great

this, if you really want to go poverty-mode do what my dad and I do, and buy coffee thats on sale or in the clearance carts at grocery stores. we get coffee for literally years for under 10 bucks. we probably have 5 years of coffee sealed and tucked away in tote bins

coffee is by far the cheapest staple good commercially available. its actually pathetic that coffee is cheaper than purified water

2 months in, herbal tea only, conceded to coffee with a friend yesterday and was up till 2am, cleaned my whole fuxking place, jesus

I live in Seattle amd quit caffeine every summer. Sun is up longer and more vitamin D So I dont need it. Its hard for the first few weeks, you will be ok.

Stop drinking shit-tier drip coffee and start making yourself god-tier french press instead, your problems will disappear.

This, and grind your own beans for maximum taste.

Yeah for like half a year. It wasn't even hard or anything. But I didn't really feel any different and I still like the taste of coffee so I started up again.

I switched to green tea. Way cleaner pick up and it will last you the whole day. Iv also started drinking a detox herbal tea every morning and noticed a deacent improvement 10/10 would recommend.

>Even more caffeine
lmao

Just drink water, how many times should that be said?

I have replaced cofee with pic related.

maybe I'm completely immune to addiction but I went from frinking 4 daily coffes to noone with absolutely no problem, don't understand whats so hard about it, but I never had any addiction so maybe its genetic

quitting cofee is like quitting chocolate: Lust stop buying it in the store so you don't have it constantly around

>harney & sons
My brother

I get anxious from coffee but it also solves my anxiety. It solves my depression. Like I could kill a man. More coffee less problemo. The runs are a meme, that's from your unhealthy lifestyle. It will stimulate a bowel movement but only if you need one. I'd say 4 cups of coffee a day before noon is my golden ratio. Accidentally got addicted at an academic camp where we didn't sleep much and it fucked me over for two weeks.

Even auschwitz had coffee, so I'd hate to see where you tea leaves are living that you don't drink coffee.

>dehydrated
How? The water in the coffee basically counteracts any dehydrating effect you get.

I'm getting lasting headache when I don't drink it in time, I always drink it first thing in the morning. So if I get it 6h too late I will have headache for atleast a day after.
Been drinking it since I was 14 everyday (Today Im 26)

If you actually enjoy the taste then just replace it with decaf. That's what I'm doing.

I've been drinking absurd amounts of coffee for the last 7 years. 6-7 large spoons of Nescafe multiple times a day. For a while I got addicted to a coffee/cigarette and a line of meth before going to the gym.

I used to be obese, so if I didn't die back then, I won't die now, but still, I need to reduce the amounts I drink, I can feel my body getting fucked up.

So many jittery fuckers ITT man. How much were you guys having that you have physical withdrawals from a coffee??? Also, do any of you actually have jobs? I work shift work and wpuld feel like ass if I didn't have a cup in the morning and afternoon. Just drink a human amount and relax bros.

>mfw drink between 4 and 8 cups of coffee per day
>mfw experience no ill effects whatsoever
>mfw have been doing this since I was ~14

In fact, coffee can be quite good for you

>antioxidants

>no ill effects whatsoever
except you would get a nervous breakdown if you had to spend one day without cofee.

I know for a fact I don't, have spent upwards of a month without coffee, didn't even notice.

if you don't notice a difference why do you drink 8 cups of cofee

I like coffee and I enjoy the ritual of drinking it?

sound like a typical addict m8

Nope, as I said, I've gone a month without any caffeine whatsoever. I would also never take caffeine pills or drink energy drinks or whatever because I find it disgusting.

I quit in the sense I don't have it at home anymore. I do still drink when offered or going out with friends. For some reason this was far, far easier than quitting smoking is for me. Didn't really feel too tired afterwards, but when ever I drink coffee now, I feel the effect way harder.
