The Germans actually intended to evacuate the population and dynamite the entire city before the Soviets got there, as the Germans intended on using the Poles as forced labor and military conscripts and wanted to purposely destroy their capital city.

Hitler had also ordered the destruction of Paris but the German general in charge, (can’t remember his name) left it standing.

Out of many absurd things the Nazis did, this wasn't absurd at all. The Soviets would've reformed and integrated most of the battleready and eager armed militias in Warsaw. There wasn't any problems with massive numbers of poles fighting under the Soviet Command.

Never in history, literally ever, Poland managed to do anything even remotely sensible in Foreign or internal politics. They are quite proficient and brave in wars, but, considering the former point, it only resulted in useless loss of life half of the time, and a literal gain of someone else.

Soviets were hostile towards Polish resistance from the beginning, because it represented original goverment-in-exile, while they created separate Polish communist goverment, which served them as a puppet. There were many cases of arrests and executions of partisans because of that. Resistance section in Warsaw was for Soviets another opposition to eliminate, instead of posssible volunteers.

There were what, 400000 strong Polish corps in the Soviet army? Why they'd have any difference in replacing rebellious organisations with the loyalists in Warsaw in particular? Especially considering that many in Warsaw uprising were the Jews - who would happily procure a very easy filtration process, ratting out dissidents, and loyal and capable leaders, just like they did in the lands reclaimed by the Soviet Union in initial partition.
Thing is, noone gave anything to France on a silver platter either. Charles De Gaulle wrestled French independence and pushed American influence out.

The worst thing about the Soviet Union was that it practised puppeting that was overly restrictive and economically depressing for its' vassals. America did a better job in Western Europe. Partisans were aware of Soviet actions in 1939 and in Katyn, so they wouldn't be happy to join Red Army. They were also informed of mass Soviet arrests of Polish partisans, such as happened after liberation of Vilnus.

Jewish Combat Organisation wasn't very relevant in 1944. most of its members were executed or deported to death camps after the ghetto uprising a year earlier. Only a few survivors took part in the main uprising.

Some AK members were happy to join Polish Communist forces. It's not widely talked about today in Poland as it would tarnish the image of AK, but there were even communist prosecutors who served in AK during the war.
