What is with those mountains?

The peaks

When the African and European plates collided the European plate was subducted and the African plate was lifted up and folded to form the Alps, Carpathians, etc.

Neato!

How the FUCK did you get an aerial shot of Sardinia? It's too far from any airport, no plane could possibly get that far.

Exaggerated relief maps are great.

What was their relation to the sea peoples?

Was it cro magnon DNA?

WHG was I2a1b apparently

>tfw wanna go to Sardina
>haven't researched "Optics" yet, can't go beyond shore tiles

Wait no but really, not memeing, how did they get to Sardinia in that instance and why?

None, their relation to them is only speculative and based on the similarities between the Sherden name and Sardinia...which isn't confirmed as a name for Sardinia until after the sea people invasions (around 1000 BC). Some (Robert? Drews) have said that Sardinians had a entrepreneurial warrior culture and that the Sherden are supposedly depicted with "european style" weapons but this is disputed. Its more likely they came from Greece like the Philistines/Peleset or possibly from former Hittite lands. Mycenaean Greek, aswell as Syrian and Anatolian pottery is found in the Levant where the Sekelesh (sometimes though to be Sicilians) are believed to have settled.
tl;dr probably little to none. The sardinians origin of sea peoples has basically been discarded.

The populations that existed in Italy were replaced so originally there was some genetic continuity there but Sardinia retained it because of isolation. Also, Sardinia was connected by land to Europe not super long ago.

It looks like mini-France

>tfw we will not see delicious Sardinian bare titties
Apparently women were still dressing that way even in the medieval era.

What's the meme?

They were part of the sea peoples but not all of them. The association between Sardinia and the Sherden is virtually certain, the reliefs made by the Egyptians to commemorate their victory over the Sherden shows them dressed exactly like those bronze figurines.

Pic is of Sherden warriors from Medinat Habu in Egypt.

Another part of the relief from the same site.

Sardinian pottery was found in Pyls kokkinokremos which is a site connected to the des peoples/foreigners in Cyprus, that’s Who I think the hypothesis still holds some weight in muy opinion

And also in Kommos, from where Cretans departed to land in Egypt

And Sicily which could be connected to the Shekelesh

Holy shit it does

>redditors discover obscure meme and start forcing it dead

Can't you faggots just guzzle your r/kaiserreich slogans?

underrated

And all this pottery is dated to the period when the Sherden first appeared in Near Eastern documentes

But there are problems, the Sherden in Ugarit have Semitic names, and in Egypt they have Egyptian names (though they are considered foreigners), so it could be that Sherden just meant mercenary in the Levant, and some Sardinians were mercenaries in Cyprus so the Cypriots called the Nuragics "Sherden"

There are also some other hints like the Nuragics starting using the drill before anyone else in thei Mediterranean except for Egyptians, which could mean they got it from them, or the fact that they made life sized statues before anyone else in the Mediterranean, again, except for Egypt

And Sicilian pottery as well

Some relatively recent finds are starting to make the hypothesis popular again, Sardinian pottery was found in Pyla kokkinokremos which is a site connected to the the sea peoples/foreigners in Cyprus, that’s why I think the hypothesis still holds some weight
