People that dominates their sport

Hi Veeky Forums, who would say completely dominated his or her sports?
Not even a rivalry but utter domination for a decent amount of time.

I can think of
>Michael Schumacher
>Usain Bolt
>Teddy Riner
>Roger Federer (at some point)
>Michael Jordan (at some point)
>Tiger Woods

Any other names?

Michael Phelps
Serena Williams

Michael jordan didnt play basketball by himself. When he played with a bunch a scrubs for the bulls in the 80m's he got rekt in the first round every single time. He's the best ever, but you can't 'dominate' a teamsport really.

Djokovic

serena williams
novak djokovic
lebron james

Wayne Gretzky
Jan Zelezny
Floyd Mayfeather jr.
Jahangir Khan

This thread belongs on /sp/ friendo.

Nobody came even close to jordan when he played. Lebron was never as much above the competition.

Probably right, always forget there is a board for that. Do you think F1 drivers and golfers lift?

>no Mike Tyson or Based Ali

Hey Steven Spielberg and James Joyce dominated their sports too I guess.

Chávez also has the longest undefeated streak in boxing history, 13 years. His record was 89-0-1 going into his first loss to Frankie Randall and had an 87 fight win streak until his draw with Whitaker

>le fight cans for 80 fights man

>people mentioning women

The don't dominate their sport. Their sports are always dominated by men. It doesn't matter that they're not in competition with men, because there is only one ultimate of anything and women are never it. It's like you're trying to make me care who was the 20th guy to climb Mount Everest.

Žydrūnas Savickas

Dominated WSM when Virastyuk and Z weren't competing but even in his prime he got schooled by Z in the Arnolds.
Savickas is the one true strongman GOAT, but in terms of dominance over a period of time it has to be Magnus Ver Magnusson

I get your point

But F1 drivers are in PEAK condition, they are as fit as most athletes

look it up senpai

Gennady Golovkin

Indurrieted

Absolutely. F1 drivers experience extreme strains on their bodies, and especially their necks, that an untrained body could not possibly cope with.

As for golf, maybe not in the past as much, but certainly since Tiger Woods hit the scene.

Don't boxers do this often?

Ronda rousey is such a meme athlete

Doesn't matter.

This desu.
887 wins and 2 losses.
Gold medals 88-96 and silver in 2000

if usain bolt qualifies, any record breaker does as well

Nadia Comaneci (5 10s in Olympics)
Ronaldinho Gaucho (only soccer player to win the 5 major competitions)

The sports GOAT.

...

Not as famous as the other fighters, but is absolutely dominating his weight class, Demetrious Johnson. There is literally no one left for him to fight. They thought Cejudo could take him, coming from a 10 win streak, and an olympic gold medalist, but got fucked in the first round.

Joseph "Mang0" Marquez

its a BS weightclass, lost to cruz, completely robbed miguel torres in a decision, robbed uncle creepy

under 170 arent eligible for best fighter in the world, they are just guys who are too small for normal sports

LeBron is better than Jordan. Every team he is on is a championship contender. Every team he leaves struggles to make the play offs, if they even do at all. When he left Cleveland, after carrying them to the finals, they literally became the worst team in the league. Jordan was a better scorer, but LeBron is a better all around player.

Look at this:
businessinsider.com/lebrons-nba-finals-stats-2015-6

Also, here's something a little kek-worthy for any /pol/acks familiar with Nate Silver. In that article they cited Nate Silver saying that LeBron has one of the worst supporting casts he's ever had. Then I looked up his predictions for the championship and found this:
rsvlts.com/2016/02/16/the-golden-state-warriors-have-already-won-the-nba-championship-according-to-nate-silvers-model/

Don't forget Christian Laettner

> not posting the god of skiing himself, Ingemar stenmark

Prime Ali was a steamroller

this keeps me up a night

Which raises the question, why aren't there freewieght fighting classes. You can be whater weight/gender you want. So many combinations, whoever has the title is currently would be the best fighter in the world, easy.

Federer only dominated for that period all the good ones were getting old (look at the seeds for his GSs), Nadal actually has a positive record against Federer (by far) and beats him literally everywhere.
Djokovic's era is insane, literally no competition.

Fedor, no question.

OP, speed dick sucking

Shaun White

Lebron has been playing in a dumpster fire conference since D-Rose was injured and one of the weakest conferences in NBA history for his entire career. When he was not getting smacked in the second round by the C's or whatever misc. other good team in the east, he got swept in the finals. As talented as he was, he's not a championship contender alone because no one is.

MJ on the other hand had to compete with two of the GOAT teams in the 80s. But I'm prepared to fuck off if Lebron wins another for da land this year.

Ronnie Coleman
Fatal1ty

First of all, Federer has the most slams of all time, the most weeks at number one of all time, the most consecutive weeks at number one of all time.

Second, Federer played aggressive, talented, shotmaking tennis. Not grinding/pushing like Nadal and Djokovic.

Third, Federer's era was much stronger. He had to deal with Nadal, Roddick, Agassi, Davydenko, Nalbandian, and had to dance through minefields of talented aggressive players and grass players.

Nadal's comparisons don't even compare to Fed's. He has only had two "great" years and also happens to be a blood doper. Further, 9 of Nadal's 14 slams came from one freaking tournament.

Djokovic is a weak era mug. He has zero competition. You think this is an insane era? LOL yeah, insanely bad. Grandpa, broken back Federer is still making slam finals and is still top 3 in the world. The current era is all MUGS. Nadal is old and washed up as well. Murray is a useless pusher.

Your peak Djokovic just got ass rammed by Sam fucking Querrey at Wimbledon.

You are honestly fucking stupid if you think that tennis is in a "strong" era right now. Federer of 2006 would die laughing at this era and clean up every tournament without breaking a sweat.

As for Fed's head to head with Nadal, it's not really an important stat. First of all, it's a bad matchup. Tennis is a matchup sport. Nadal is a fucking robot programmed just to beat Roger Federer. Secondly, the head to head would be even if they played on grass as many times as they played on clay. Look it up. It's not Federer's fault that a) there are not many FAST surfaces anymore, b) that the ATP slowed down all courts and homogenized them, and c) that Nadal was not good enough to meet Federer on faster courts. Federer was going deeper at clay events, thus meeting Nadal in finals, while Nadal was getting knocked out at other events so HE NEVER FACED PEAK FED OFTEN ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN CLAY.

I guarantee you are a casual

and?
