I believe that doing 5x5 won't do much for me because i'm moving a lower amount of weight then if I did 3x5. imo I will get stronger from moving heavier weight less frequently than lower weight more often.

Many people before a heavy lift take a _few_ quick deep breaths and then brace and go for it. That's all you need. If you start really huffing and puffing first, you will pass out. Some idiots do this every year while swimming trying to hold their breath for longer and wind up drowning in shallow water.

i do this too. i saw a joe rogan podcast with some guy that talked about deep, heavy breathing for several minutes to oxygenate your blood, and that would allow you to go several minutes holding your breath. i really have no idea if that applies to diddlies, but it does seem to help and i don't start getting light headed through my last 1-2 reps anymore. so after my last warmup set i'll take 5-7 minutes to mentally turn myself the fuck up and breath really deep and heavy.

they're better off trained together, or at least alternating over a few weeks or a month, but training for strength is better than the usual 10x3 that most beginners/casuals use

3 reps is pretty fucking low, but you will gain strength. 5 is still on the lower end of reps, too. when you increase the reps, youll elicit sarcoplasmic hypertrophy,, which basically means your muscles hold more fluid(like when you take creatine, only they work together in this) and have more nutrients and energy available. when this haopoens, not only do you have the strength that you've already achieved, but your muscles have more energy to put towards your lifts, which can increase your 3 rep max to a 5 rep max, and before you know it, youve achieved a new 3 rep max

It doesn't really work that way. Sarcoplasm is basically glycogen and you're not really using any of that at 3-5 reps unless you're doing something unusual with your tempo or your rests.

It's on site, but very brief intense exertions don't really rely on it. That's almost all powered by ATP.
