What does Veeky Forums think of this new series on History called Knightfall? Is it any good?

posting webms found on /tv/

...

It's basically just more of the big old lie, Templars died, they are no more blablabla...

>implying they didn't found Switzerland as their secret proxy to rule the world from the shadows.

Will they show the curse of the Templars on Phillip IV?

Something something Jews something

>Phillip IV
they've made him a literal cuck in the show. also Franco-Mongol alliance when?

What about his wife's sons?

they haven't shown any.... yet :)

>no helmets

I think it is likely the jews could have been whispering in Phillip IV's ear when he ordered the destruction of the Knights Templar. They wanted to wipe out the competition in banking.

>lowering lances before the charge
no

are you fucking serious? You know philip was the VERY SAME KING who banished the Jews from France on top of killing the Templars? The guy was just a greedy indebted fuck who wanted scapegoats to kill and whose assets he could seize for himself.

looks like historical trash for amerimutts, maybe little better than """""Vikings"""""

Is a completely acceptable brea kfrom reality in movies/tv shows because otherwise its really fucking hard to tell who the characters are

Just like its totally fine in sci fi shows for spacesuits to have pointless lights pointing at the wearers face in the helmet

would you really charge cavalry in such narrow confined conditions

FIREBALLS

It would be extremely painful to watch

you're a big guy

Wasn't Phillip in debt to the Jews, which is why he seized the Templars property, but then he exiled all of them so he could keep the money anyway?

Phillip was indebted to both.

>you can't be indebted if you kill your creditors.

>Is a completely acceptable brea kfrom reality in movies/tv shows because otherwise its really fucking hard to tell who the characters are
I know it's really hard go guess who character in pic is, but can you try?

> Everyone using uniform equipment

Nah, looks like crap.

Spartacus Blood and Sand meets the 1982 version of Ivanhoe

Crusading orders did use uniformed surcoats.

>charging without a shield.
Come on, even Medieval Times stuntmen can do that.

arrow to the knee lol

That camera "inside" the helmet or whatever looks neat tho

Spartacus set in medieval times.
Fucking ridicolous and only iq relieved imbecils would enjoy it.
The main character looks like a fucking kevlin klein model with better hair than 99% of women in the modern world

Too much slow-mo shit already.

Are the 300 to blame for this shit?

No, the plebeian masses are for eating this shite up.

First episode was trash.

That I'm alright with, but everyone having identical armor, down to the horses' bardings, sidearms, helmets and shoulder-guards?

The helmet must be huge for them to film like that, though. Normal helmets would be pretty cramped, what with all the padding.

>REEE WHY AREN'T THEY WEARING HELMETS
becomes
>REEE CRUSADERS DIDN'T WEAR THOSE KINDS OF HELMETS

Spartacus is actually quite smart in how pornographic it is.

>Slaves literally objectified in their attire so they are viewed more as objects than people
>Romans clothed making them seem more like people than objects.
>Show deals with religious mysticism and apotheosis
>Hero calls for violent revolution to overthrow corrupt systems contrasting Jesus' views of turning the other cheek and waiting for the hereafter
>Show is saying that Spartacus is more worthy of devotion than Jesus due to him actually saving people
>Show doesn't give Spartacus the same death as Jesus cementing him not as an actually divine figure but a regular person who is more righteous than the figure viewed as the most righteous by most people in the world (particularly in the area which he's from).

Is the show "historically" accurate? No, but it actually works pretty well as a show, especially as it triggers critics who have no understand of what the show tries - and succeeds - to do. Also, the miniseries about Batiatus and his father is this big fuck you to corporatism.

>crusaders
>plate armor for horses

Gimli is a pretty bad example desu, he's readily identifiable to the viewer due to his beard and height, also note that he's wearing an opened face helmet which doesn't impede his visibility to the crowd on top of dressing drastically different to other characters on screen.

Is butted maille canon? also
, is that triple H?

its like vikings but for deus vult larpers.

kekked at the "serves him right" scene.
