Personally "Go The Distance" (from the film mentioned by OP) is the only good Michael Bolton song.

It's the only time that singer restrains himself from belting every singer note at max-level like a damn amateur. Just because you can hit high notes doesn't mean you have to every 3 seconds continuously.

That's why I can't respect him. He has absolutely no concept of subtlety or restraint, he just belts out high notes again & again and calls it music.
